13.01.2022 4 years to the day. seems like a lifetime ago I threw some frames on the walls, wiped down the old drycleaner fluoro’s on the ceiling, ripped the brown paper off the glass and propped the door open. walk ins only my business card said and I had 200 printed. Esperance hadn’t seen a male barber since the 90’s so the first few weeks flew by without a minute to scratch myself, fix a lunch break or even fit in an old friend. i became appointments only at the end of the first mo...nth to the shock of few and the praise of many (and this has served me well since). no bloke breathing down my neck and a dedicated half hour to execute a quality trim. 8 months in, with enough time to chat and enough room out back to swing a cat..Downtown rolled in, we revamped the place and they brewed their first cuppa. stoked to know ya’s and thankyou for the endless supply of caffeine and banana bread. 3 and a half years later and second nature to anyone who works retail..I’ve had the pleasure of being yelled at, sworn to and huffed and puffed at by many a big bad wolf but none of this will outweigh the countless high fives and ha-ha’s, flat whites and stories shared...just ask me about the bloke with the stink foot!! shouts out to the loyals who’ve been there from the start and the rest of ya’s who came and went and joined in along the way. I’ve met some dead set ripper blokes along the way. and everyone following on at home who’ve shown some love, thankyou. big love to Justin, James, Ta-ku and all the boys at @westonsbarbers for the start when nobody else would. owe you the world. my parents. my kids and the mrs @rachael_granich.
