18.01.2022 As some of you know my middle boy Hugo was diagnosed with ALL - Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia 6 months ago. This is usually where I post for my work but the support I have received during this time has been amazing. I need to thank so many people and I felt this was the quickest and easiest way. So to all those people not only my amazing family and close friends but to all my work colleagues, suppliers, clients, school mums/dads, my little home town Canowindra, acquaintances... and followers thank u from the bottom of my heart I will never forget what you have done. A charity was organised in honour of Hugo and raised over $65K which will go towards research in finding a cure to stop this terrible disease. From food drops, to organising charities, helping with my family and children, a phone call, text or a coffee. This has meant so much to Frankie and I and has made our life so much easier during the toughest time in our life. Hugo has just started his last 3 months of intense treatment. The treatment is hell and the side effects are cruel. In the first round of chemo Hugo suffered a 15cm blood clot on his brain which caused him terrible pain amongst other things. We have both adapted to our new life of living on and off in hospital. We joke about me changing the bright blue curtains that we look at all day. At night we go and find the ghosts in the old parts of Prince of Wales Hospital - he loves frightening me. The nurses and doctors are amazing and have become our family. My little man has been so positive throughout his treatment and has taught me so much about life. We do have good and bad days. Some days we both cry all day but I tell him that is good as we are washing away the pain. I have tried to keep life as normal as possible and have kept working as much as I can which is good for him and I mentally. All going to plan we hope to finish his intense chemo at the end of February and then he will go on an 18 month maintenance program! Thank you again from Frankie and I. 01.01.2022 My gorgeous second born Hugo turned 13 today!!! Such a proud moment for both myself and my husband Frankie. He has been through so much over the past 14 months and he is the strongest little/big man I know. He has taught me so much over the past year during his fight against Leukaemia. Most importantly never to sweat the small stuff and to enjoy every day as it is a blessing. For all those special people who still send messages of support thank u it means the world to us. Hugo is still having treatment which will continue until June next year but at the moment he is doing really well and back at school a few days a week. I just wanted to give you all a little update as I know I dont always get back to everyone but I truly appreciate all the messages and support that surrounds us it really helps! With Love Denai
