23.01.2022 As we are all well aware, Victoria is easing restrictions on dine-in restaurants starting next week. The new restrictions as they are, currently allow us a fairly small number of customers due to our small floor space. At this time, we are going to be continuing our take-away and delivery food service as is. We will look towards July and any further relaxing of restrictions and how successful Victoria goes in before we make a decision on restoring dine-in trade. 22.01.2022 After a wild weekend of (almost) regular dining service I can safely say that it feels amazing to be back! Thank you to all who came out to enjoy the great turn in COVID restrictions as well as the weather with us. That being said, we do have a small kitchen that comes with its own limits. During stage 3-4 lockdown we switched gears and set our kitchen and dining space up for mass takeaway order production. We were able to bring some semblance of DenDeke to your homes to brig...hten up your lockdown. For that and for your amazing support during this period, we are awed and grateful! As we move back to our regular dine-in service (which is how our dishes were always meant to be enjoyed) we are unfortunately unable to continue making takeaway food with the scale and speed that we were previously able to. The home delivery service has also come to an end for now. For those who couldn't reach us by phone over the weekend, this was because our phones were literally ringing non-stop, even whilst we had to attend to our dine-in guests. Those who got orders through had a bit of longer wait for their food as well. We now realise that we are unable to do both dine-in and mass takeaway on the scale we previously did, and hard choices now have to be made. Would that we had twice the kitchen capacity and staff! To those who experienced long waits and who couldn't reach us at all these past few days we apologise deeply. We will have to place limits on the amount of takeaway orders we are able to accept while we move towards expanding dine-in service again. If you are trying to place an order, please bear in mind that just after 6pm and 7:30pm are extremely busy turnover periods for us and we may not be able to take all incoming calls during this time. We do appreciate your understanding in the matter, and hope that soon we will have a greater dining capacity to host all of you again at some point to enjoy some DenDeke food fresh from our kitchen! #dendekepreston #takeaway #dining #preston #thornbury

We literally went from zero orders to a dozen in 15 minutes, and the phone was ringing non-stop! We are so glad you're all keen as but we are unfortunately limited by the capacity of our kitchen! There are also 2 tables available for outdoor dining out the front (that are exempt from the limit). 13.01.2022 Here we go... DenDeke's home delivery service starts this week! Delivery will be available from TuesdaySunday from 58:30pm and during lunchtime (122:30pm) on Saturdays and Sundays. Please call us at 8596 1819 to place an order! Delivery will currently be available for Preston (3072) and Thornbury (3071) for orders of $50 or more. Delivery to neighbouring suburbs may be possible on a case-by-case basis, but as we are going to be running deliveries in person this may be ...difficult to do during peak periods (67:30pm-ish). Deliveries will be done in as safe a manner as possible, but please let us know if you want the food left on the doorstep etc. We can take card payments over the phone or contactless payment on delivery. 10.01.2022 To nobody's great surprise, we are back in lockdown. An unfortunate but necessary development... This unfortunately means that all dine-in bookings after Wednesday will have to be cancelled. We will contact all parties shortly. As of Thursday evening we will be reverting to our home delivery and pickup takeaway model. Recent weeks illustrate how delicate our situation is and how being responsible about social distancing is so crucial to our lockdown succeeding or failing.... As we head into at least six more weeks of lockdown, we urge all Victorians to maintain their distancing practices and not to take anything for granted. 07.01.2022 Well, that was a hell of a weekend. We've certainly had a wild turn of events. From reduced capacity trading we went straight to closed, do not pass go. We're still holding out for clarification if some form of dark kitchen with delivery option is available to us, but it sounds like it will be a blanket ban on food operations altogether (unless you're a convenience store?). We're exploring options and contingencies for all our staff, especially the ones on tricky visa situati...ons. Please stay tuned to our social media for further updates, but for the forseeable future, like all other non-essential businesses we will be going into furlough. Amidst the frustration and anxiety of the past month we have seen some of the poorer aspects of human nature emerge in our midsts, but we have also seen the finer. We have seen neighbour reach out to aid neighbour, people offering support and assistance to the needy. To all of you out there sharing your bog rolls, offering essentials delivery to vulnerable people, furiously supporting your local businesses these past few weeks... thank you.
