14.01.2022 During our recent road trip down the South Coast during the school holidays, we did an evening whale watching charter trip out to Montague Island just off Narooma. We got to see a large number of Humpback Whales, Fur Seals (1,000 seen around during peak season) penguins (holds NSW largest colony of little penguins) and an incredible number of birds at dusk -it seems the only thing we did not see was dolphins, which they say can be seen on most trips. The lighthouse built in 1881 is easy to climb. A trip not to be missed between September and November when the whales are migrating south to the Antarctica.

13.01.2022 Cruise ships are now stopping at Batemans Bay and can be seen from Denhams Beach Retreat as they are leaving. Another ship the Seaborne Encore was in today.
