The new site is a wonderful improvement on the old HLRV... and will greatly benefit all historical land research. Hopefully it will also encourage more people to explore their family or local history. This is the link to the new site: //nswlrs.com.au/About/About/Announcements/48 See more

13.01.2022 The D G S is in the process of collating a book on Pioneers of Deniliquin & District Pre 1900. The aim of the book is to remember those that came before us there trials, hardships and contributions to our wonderful town, be it small or large collating some of the history of Deniliquin. We would like to ask if you have an ancestor who lived in Deniliquin pre 1900 and if you would write a story to submit to our Pioneers Book. It would be great if you can include any pictures y...ou may have of the pioneer & or family, these can be scanned and returned to the contributor straight away. The story can be page or up to four pages in length. The closing date for stories was to be 31st March 2020. We now have extended this until the end of April. There may be a little time after that date but we will go with whatever stories we have as we wish to publish before October 2020. We have around over 30 stories so far that have been submitted mostly from descendants that have left Deniliquin, Along with some great photos. The Society is happy to help with local research we have now closed our meetings on Fridays due to the COVID-19 at the library. WE CAN STILL DO RESEARCH AND WILL HELP WHERE WE CAN. EMAIL: [email protected] Don’t miss out have your ancestor remembered and recorded for their contribution large or small it is up to you. Kind Regards Val Hardman President Deniliquin Genealogy Society Inc.

10.01.2022 COVID-19 Update Deniliquin Library is maintaining normal operating hours at this stage. We understand that in times of uncertainty, libraries can be places of r...efuge and hope, and we will do all we can to offer this possibility to those who can continue to visit. Deniliquin Library is taking a proactive approach in response to the unfolding situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19) and have made the decision to suspend all public events and programs including BabyBounce, Storytime, School Holiday Activities, Chess Group & One-On-One Tech Sessions as a preventative measure to support the health and wellbeing of the community, volunteers and staff. We are encouraging use of our digital resources, including Bolinda BorrowBox (eBooks and Audio Books) and RB Digital Magazines. You can find the links to these via the library website. http://cmrl.edwardriver.nsw.gov.au/ To support those who cannot or don’t want to access physical spaces and resources, we can arrange to have library material delivered to your door. Contact the Deniliquin Library on 5898 3100 / [email protected] for more information.
