16.01.2022 DSCC Autocross Round 12 - Final Event for 2020 Another year gone. 2020 started off with a couple of events, including the only Victorian Club Autocross Series for 200, before the Covid19 restrictions started. We had a break and missed Rounds 3, 4 and 5 restarting again with Round 6 in July. We achieved only 7 events in total but some drivers were not able to cross the border from Victoria to attend some of those. The 2020 Championship results are recorded but it has to be ack...nowledged that the result would have been different without Covid19 and border restrictions. The Junior Khanacross was again held during the lunch break. Three drivers had their time on the special course with all of them improving their times and ability with each run. The Junior Khanacross drivers were awarded with a trophy for their effort before the Autocross action resumed. Class Winners for Round 12 Class A: Neil Morrison Class D: Danny Dunn Class E: Tony Fox Junior: Abbie Fraser Full Results for Round 12: https://www.dscc.com.au/Race/index.php 2020 Award Presentation Class A: Grant Fraser (received by Abbie Fraser) Class B: John Londrigan Class D: Danny Dunn and Bryson Lloyd Class E and Outright Champion: Tony Fox While the drivers get the awards for their performance during the year it is important to remember the officials and all the people that make the events happen. Starting with the paperwork (Motorsport Australia permit, Motorsport NSW approval, notifications) then the track setup (Cones for Autocross and Khanacross), Raceday setup (Vehicles, Fire Extinguishers, Timing Gear, taking entries and payments) and the timing and track officials that keep standing up the cones that drivers knock over. Also the canteen that keeps everyone fed during the day. And after the event there is still some more paperwork to do. There is a lot of work to do for these events to happen and the volunteers deserve some appreciation as well.

Volunteers are needed to instruct students on the street course and track. Rotary and Lions help us with this but it would be good to have some of our drivers instructing on the track. The students will be at DSCC Tuesday to Friday December 1st to 4th. They usually arrive about 9:15am and leave around 2:50pm. Breaks are provided during the day and food is free of charge for volunteers. Volunteers are welcome to do half days or even a few hours if that works for them. Please contact DSCC if you can find the time to help.

10.01.2022 DSCC 2020 Autocross Series Round 12 - Final Event - Awards Our final event for 2020 is on this weekend - Saturday December 12th will be DSCC Autocross Round 12 Everyone is encouraged to get their entry in this week.... Download the entry pack http://dscc.com.au/PDF/EntryPackage-2020R12.pdf or enter through the Motorsport Australia Member Portal at https://www.motorsport.org.au/login If you enter through Motorsport Australia you still need to download and complete the Scrutiny Forms Self-Scrutiny Checklist - https://www.motorsport.org.au//sc/self-checklist-speed.pdf and Self-Scrutiny Statement of Vehicle Compliance - https://www.motorsport.org.au//self_statement-of-vehicle-c When the racing is finished we will be presenting awards for the Class and outright Winners. Pizza will be provided afterwards. The Deni High School Driver Education program went well over the last week. It started with the mock accident at the Showgrounds where two student were cut out of a car with the normal Police, Ambulance, Fire and VRA/SES attending. Tuesday to Friday we had groups of students learning and experiencing different aspects of driving. From the street course with all the Give Ways, Stop signs, the roundabout and the hill starts, to a simulated car park where traffic cones are regularly run over and some time on the track where the idea is to learn about traction and control. Most of the students found the point where traction runs out. For Round 12 NSW Government Covid 19 regulations still require entry to be booked before any event but at least Victorians are finally welcome to attend. Download the entry form from the DSCC website or use the Motorsport Australia portal. If all else fails at least give us a call on 0407 949 942 so we can help you get entered for the day.

09.01.2022 DSCC 2020 Autocross Series Round 11 We have 11 autocross entries and a few for Khanacross as well so racing is on for tomorrow Sunday October 25th. With a small field the drivers should get plenty of time on the track. The forecast is 37 degrees, partly cloudy, 20% chance of a shower in the afternoon. All up it will make a good days racing.

05.01.2022 DSCC Autocross Round 10 The weather on Saturday morning had us all a bit doubtful about running the Round 10 Autocross. Luckily the wind kept up and the storms didn't arrive. Sunday morning was still cold but the sun was out and the sky was mostly blue. It was a great day for racing. The last event was cancelled with a lack of entries but today we had 18 drivers. A good turnout considering the Covid situation. Despite the previous days rain the track surface was hard and dry.... Only a couple of corners had damp patches where the rain had puddled. With the break in events and lack of practice for many drivers the times weren't so fast at the start of the day. But after a couple of runs (and swapping tyres by one driver) that changed considerably. With only two Juniors for the lunchtime Khanacross it was a case of go around again and again and again. No waiting involved for them. After lunch the competition was on again and the times go a lot hotter. Bryson Lloyd achieved the the fastest run of the day at 145.13. Alister Butcher and Tony Fox alternated for the Class E lead during the afternoon with each getting faster and faster. Tony Fox won out in the end. Class Winners Class A: Grant Fraser Class B: John Londrigan Class D: Bryson Lloyd Class E: Tony Fox Junior: Abbie Fraser Full Results: https://www.dscc.com.au/Race/index.php Photos: https://www.dscc.com.au/index.php THE NEXT EVENT The next event at DSCC will be 15th November 2020. Autocross Round 11 will be the normal 10am start, with a Junior Khanacross during the lunchbreak. Gates will be open at 8:30am. Canteen will be open with hot food ready to go soon after. The current Covid19 situation is an ongoing problem. Advance entry is still required and there are restrictions on who can enter. Entries must be received and approved before the event in accordance with NSW Government Health Orders and Motorsport Australia. No Victorians are allowed and anyone that has been in Victoria during the 14 days preceding race day are also not allowed to attend. But there is an exemption for Victorians that reside in the 'Border Region', they are able to attend events at DSCC as we are also in the 'Border Region'. OFFICIALS The lack of Officials at DSCC may soon result in events being cancelled. DSCC currently have just enough officials to run Autocross events. If any of them are unable to attend, events cannot be run. We need more people to become accredited with Motorsport Australia so we can continue to run events. For Competition licence holders login to the Motorsport Australia Member Portal and choose Online Training. Under Courses > Officials start with An Introduction to CAMS Officiating. For anyone else register at https://www.motorsport.org.au/register

03.01.2022 DSCC Autocross Round 11 Race day was excellent. It was still hot but the cloud cover kept the temperature reasonable. As usual the first few runs cleared the loose surface off the track and the times came down towards the end of the day. ... The formerly banned Victorian members added to the competition. Neil Goudie was the only Class D for a little while but with Bryson Lloyd and Danny Dunn making an appearance again Neil was left in third place this week. Tony Fox, Grant Fraser and Alister Butcher were separated by only 3 seconds at the end of the day. Juniors Rebecca and Abbie Fraser both pushed hard during the day, a little too hard overshooting some corners. Rebecca held on with a one second lead at the end of the day. Class Winners for Round 11 Class A: Grant Fraser Class D: Bryson Lloyd Class E: Tony Fox Junior: Rebecca Fraser Full Results: https://www.dscc.com.au/Race/index.php Final Event for 2020 The last event for 2020 at DSCC will be Saturday 12th December 2020.
