25.01.2022 Tonight’s bride is Kylie Kylie’s dress is DWB custom made. She was another a bride that started the dress journey early. This was a good thing considering we ended up having to postpone fittings thank to old mate COVID! Anyhow, Kylie’s dress started off one way and then the top half totally changed. Originally the bodice was a natural waistline with no sleeves, tulle over the bodice that tied up at the shoulders and pearls were going to be hand sewn over it. After the first... fabric fitting Kylie sent me a picture of a bodice that had flutter sleeves and an empire cut, where the skirt falls from just under the bust instead. I thought, okay, this will not be a problem for two reasons. One I had left a very big hem so lifting the skirt 2 or 3 inches would be fine. And two I had enough fabric to cut a new bodice to accommodate armholes for sleeves The beauty of having your dress made locally is a bit more flexibility in design changes Kylie’s dress was ivory tulle over Whisper Pink Toscano crepe back satin. Corded lace was hand appliqued on the tulle. Every bit of lace you see on the dress was cut and trimmed from a large piece. I just love making my own lace designs on a dress! And then a ribbon sash just finished this dress off I was very surprised when Kylie told me that she did not try any dresses on. She put a lot of faith in me I think you’ll agree when I say she looks absolutely amazing www.denisewright.com.au

19.01.2022 Here are pictures from a recent wedding dress showcasing Latoya. I’m sharing a few shots from her dress collection day What a cute and fun dress! Latoya wanted a tea length dress with a royal blue petticoat underneath. The dress is a polyester dupion (the look of silk without the silk price tag), with box pleats, a high boat neckline and sleeves. Sleeves can be restrictive in a fabric with no stretch so I tried to make them not too tight! ... I had to get her to lift the dress up to show the petticoat - frilled netting edged with blue ribbon. I also made the flower girl dress which was in the most vibrant blue silk dupion (photo to come). I am looking forward to seeing photos from the day! www.denisewright.com.au

18.01.2022 The last couple of weeks has been filled with custom made gown collections, off the rack gown collections and final fittings. We’ve also had clients who have just started their dress journey with their calico fitting as well as appointments for those looking for their dream dress. New off the rack gowns have been arriving too and I have gone a little crazy with ordering new stock fabrics and laces. I truly hope I can find the time to make a couple of new DWB bespoke samples ...over Christmas The craziness doesn’t end for a few more weeks though with lots of collections and fittings! Tonight we are featuring the gorgeous Kate, who married on Friday. Kate came to see me just before COVID shut Perth (and me) down. Luckily though, it didn’t affect my schedule with her. She had been looking for something very specific but couldn’t find it. Kate described what she was looking for, so I drew something up for her and our journey began. Kate was looking for a two piece outfit with an overskirt she could take off during the night to reveal a jumpsuit. For the jumpsuit we wanted a fabric that was suitable but also that bit more dressy. The first thing that came to my mind was Sienna Crepe. The jumpsuit was sleeveless with a wide pant leg, high front neck and V back that zipped up at the back. It was fully lined as well. I also made a removable belt but knew that finding the right buckle would be the challenge. Luckily, one of my wholesalers had one that looked perfect. When the buckles arrived the base colour was a perfect match On to the overskirt. Kate wanted a fabric that had texture. I sent her a few pictures of different textured fabrics and she chose the Waffle fabric - love that name It was a mid weight Jacquard cotton blend featuring a textured jacquard waffling design throughout. I made a fixed belt for the skirt as well and it had POCKETS! Kate sent me through a photo taken by a guest. I just couldn’t wait to share until pro shots! So here is a little of Kate’s journey from sketch to walking down the aisle www.denisewright.com.au

17.01.2022 Tonight we have a another beautiful bride, Sylvia Sylvia contacted me a few weeks out from her wedding date. She made an appointment to try on my ex-bespoke samples, and when she arrived I put her in my one off design ‘Elizabeth’. This dress is a fully beaded, halter neck, tea length dress with a ribbon sash around the waist. The dress just needed taking in and the halter strap tightened. Sylvia is wearing a tea length hoop underneath to add that vintage 50’s look. She loo...ks amazing She has kindly shared some photos from the magical day and I’ve also included a couple from collection day www.denisewright.com.au

17.01.2022 What a start to the year it has been So many appointments and I am thrilled that so many have found their dress at DWB, whether that be off the rack or custom couture. As I am getting more and more enquiries for off the rack dresses, I will be bringing in a lot more styles in various sizes Tonight’s beautiful bride is Mirka.... Her smile just lights up a room! Mirka was orginially having a custom couture made dress but then the wedding was brought forward quite a few months. Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to make the dress with only a few weeks notice, so Mirka tried on a few dresses from my off the rack range. This is when she fell in love with DB364 It only needed a few alterations to fit. Mirka has kindly said that it’s okay to share some photos from the day (photography by Jeerawan Mueller at Magnetic Storm Entertainment). Isn’t she gorgeous I’ve also included a shot from gown collection day. Book your appointment at DWB soon www.denisewright.com.au

09.01.2022 Tonight’s bride is Jo. She is just gorgeous. When I first met Jo she wasn’t 100% sure what she wanted. She thought maybe a floral print or even tea length. She also loved a ready made style I had in stock. Unfortunately I no longer carry that particular label and the dress wasn’t the right size but I could make a dress using this one as the inspiration. Jo put her trust in me.. I call this beautiful dress ‘boho meets traditional’. ... The base of Jo’s dress was Toscano Crepe Back Satin in Whisper Pink with plain tulle in ivory. I knew one of my wholesalers had a linear guipure lace in ivory that would be perfect. This lace could be cut in to exactly what we needed. The bodice was fitted with the lace placed on a diagonal pattern with little sprays of it cascading from the shoulders, a natural waistline and V front and back necklines. The skirt was a full cut with no gathers but slight easing along the waist. Wishing Jo and Kelly all the happiness in the world and thank you for the wonderful review you left Jo. Jo Has kindly shared a photo from the day. Photographer is Red Eclectic (Kat Wray). The rest are from Jo's dress collection day. If you love this lace, I have a few metres left in stock. The wholesaler has discontinued carrying it, although I live in hope they will bring it back They do still have stock of it in black and I am considering getting some Get in touch if you want a stunning custom made #boho dress with this lace in ivory or black, while it’s still available www.denisewright.com.au

09.01.2022 Yesterday I officially started back, though I did do a few early appointments last week for consults and gown pick ups. I am looking forward to working with those who have signed up for custom and off the rack alterations Pictured are gowns that are new to the off the rack arrivals. Prices and sizes in stock are listed on the website. I am endeavouring to stock more Size 18+. It’s wise to remember that in the world of bridal, sizing tends to run small. It’s been this way s...ince before I can remember! Also, in case you are not aware, I can only accommodate up to 3 guests with the bride. This is the new normal until further notice but in all honesty I do advise that this is a good amount anyway. In the past I have brides bring up to 10 guests with them and it can become very confusing with everyone having a different opinion. However, you are more than welcome to make another appointment if you wish, so you can bring different guests. By appointment Mondays to Saturdays. Please check the website for opening times www.denisewright.com.au

09.01.2022 So many beautiful brides are walking down the aisle and it is such an honour when they have chosen DWB for their special gown. Tonight we are showcasing Kelsey Kelsey came to see me at the beginning of 2019 to try on dresses. I must admit I can’t remember how many were tried on at the appointment (well, it is nearly 2 years ago!) but when Kelsey tried on the CW448 Style it was her dress This dress was the quintessential princess gown. A beautiful full tulle skirt with a t...rain and a light scattering of sequins for sparkle. The simple, fitted satin bodice had a sweetheart front neckline which looked amazing on her. Then it had heavily beaded cap sleeves for a wow factor! The only problem was that this style was discontinued. It could not be reordered and it wasn’t in Kelsey’s size (bridal sizing tends to run smaller than regular clothing). Kelsey loved the dress so I just had to make this work for her. I took the zip out and replaced with a lace up back. I have many satins in different colours in my store room, and luckily I had one that looked a perfect match! With the wedding being so far out I didn’t schedule Kelsey in for a fitting until the beginning of this year. Well, lucky we still had time up our sleeves because Kelsey was a rural bride and Western Australia had internal border lock downs! Once this was lifted we could reschedule our first fitting. Kelsey had not seen her gown in over a year so it was a relief she still loved it when she got to put it on again and that neckline still looked amazing on her Kelsey has sent through a few photos from the day. Doesn’t she look stunning?! Photos are by Bird on the Wall Photography www.denisewright.com.au

08.01.2022 Tonight’s bride is Bev Bev came to me just a few weeks before her wedding date. I put her in one of my ex-bespoke samples and it was almost a perfect fit It just needed a little bit of adjusting and Bev wanted some of the fullness taken out of the skirt. It is a cute tea length number in spot tulle. It was such a fun, party dress with a touch of vintage inspiration ... Oh and I have to mention Bev’s shoes! Bev had the cutest shoes! When you have a tea length dress you can go all out with shoes as they become a feature with the dress. Bev has kindly shared some photos. Just look at these shots I've also included some photos from collection day. All the happiness in the world to this gorgeous family Don’t forget that eventually all my bespoke samples go on sale for less than cost. You can find them under the Off the Rack: Clearance section on my website. They are clearly marked as ex-bespoke. With these dresses there can be more wriggle room for changes as more often than not I have remnants left over from when the gown was made. Just ask and I can see what can be done www.denisewright.com.au

06.01.2022 It’s been great seeing so many brides to be of late. It has left me low on Size 14 and over dresses though! With this in mind, I have seven new Size 14 or over styles due over the next couple of months The first two arrived last Thursday. Style 364 is a beautiful A-line lace dress. Look at that back! It has such detailed beading along the neckline. My stock dress is all ivory (the pictured dress is ivory over blush). This sample is a Size 14. ... The next beauty is Style 105 and it is a chiffon and lace dress. It is a simple style for the bride looking for a more minimalist dress but still wanting that wow element. This sample is a Size 16. Don’t leave it too late to start looking for your dress, whether it’s an off the rack or custom made. The Christmas break is fast approaching and I will be closing for appointments for 2-3 weeks over this period, so please book your appointment now www.denisewright.com.au

06.01.2022 I am back open from tomorrow! I’ve rearranged all of this weeks appointments without too much hassle. Masks are compulsory for all of next weeks appointments and I still have the restriction of the bride and up to 3 guests in place. On to the dresses! ... I have 8 brand new styles arriving by the end of April, if not before. Have you checked out the budget range dresses on my website? These dresses are under $550 and can be ordered in different sizes, but remember, I sell all my stock samples (apart from the custom sample range) off the rack Here’s a few of the dresses in stock Get in touch sooner rather than later to make an obligation free appointment www.denisewright.com.au

03.01.2022 Sometimes a bride and a dress are just meant to be I had gorgeous bride message me last week on Friday night to ask if she could make an appointment to try on a particular dress. It was urgent as the wedding date was only five days away! Unfortunately I was fully booked with appointments that day, so all I could offer was if I finished early with another appointment, she could come in between meaning it would be short notice. Luckily, she was fine with that! ... I did finish early with an appointment so Haervie quickly rushed over. She tried the dress on and fell in love. She didn’t even need any time to think about it. It was almost a perfect fit - so much so that she could get away without any alterations and you couldn’t even tell. She also grabbed one of my new stock veils The weather was perfect on Wednesday. You couldn’t ask for any better Haervie sent through a couple of photos that I can share. She was an absolutely beautiful bride Wishing this beautiful couple all the best wishes in the world www.denisewright.com.au
