25.01.2022 Tips on reading food labels: 1. When comparing products, look at the column per 100g. Sugar content of less than 5g per 100g is best, but less than 10g is okay. 2. Look out forhidden sugars. See the photo below for examples of the different names sugar can be given. ... 3. Look at the ingredients list. The closer to the top on the list, the more prevalent it is in the product!

25.01.2022 The World Health Organization recommends no more than 6 teaspoons of sugar per day. This includes hidden sugars in packaged food. Did you know that a glass of juice and a bowl of cereal for breakfast can add up to more than 6 teaspoons of sugar?

25.01.2022 We love creating beautiful smiles! #worldsmileday

23.01.2022 Have you got a sweet tooth? Everything you eat and drink can have an effect on the health of your teeth and gums. Sugar from the foods and drinks we consume is taken up by decay-causing bacteria that live on the surfaces of our teeth. The bacteria turns the sugar into acid which can then lead to tooth decay.... Did you know that one 600ml bottle of soft drink, on average, contains 16 teaspoons of sugar? This is over twice the recommended daily sugar intake for adults. At Denison Dental we would always recommend water as the best choice for your teeth. It is sugar free and good for your teeth and general health.

22.01.2022 Dr Viviers reading this weeks Kingborough Chronicle with Denison Dental in its Health Feature. In the editorial we mention our health being one of the most important things we have and that dental health is related to your general health in many ways. We realise that during the time of isolation, a lot of people have put off going to their GP or Dentist for general care and with restrictions placed on dentistry, people have had to cancel their regular appointments with the d...entist. There might be other reasons why going to the dentist is not one of your favourites. Some people are avoiding a trip to the dentist due to dental phobia or anxiety. You are not alone as there are millions of people around the world who feels exactly like this. We want to let you know that this can be overcome and we are here to help you on that journey. Tell us if you feel anxious. We might be able to discuss ways to potentially make it easier for you. We care about you and your health and would always try to make your visit as comfortable as we can. Its time to put your health first. Call us on 6229 4122 to talk to one of our friendly staff members if you want to make an appointment or need advice.
