22.01.2022 Santa needs a helper today for a couple of hours. Any takers?

22.01.2022 Bec Biggs and Mick Harvey shooting for Gallagher Fencing are a strong duo, and a quick first goal to them. Not to be discounted in defence for Tayla’s Team though is Chels Mac and Laura Biggs, making them fight for every goal. Carissa Bulmer and and Brett MacDonald shooting for Tayla’s Team moving quick in the circle and benefiting from a few penalty shots. ... Time called by Macca with a minute to go. Blood rule. A quick bandaid to fix the injury and play resumes (don’t worry, Temeka. He’s fine) Score at quarter time is: Gallagher Fencing: 12 Tayla’s Team: 4

21.01.2022 Gallagher Fencing to start the centre pass for second quarter but an early intercept in defence gave Tayla’s team the goal. A position change for Tayla’s Team brings Ray Murphy into defence with Laura, and C-Mac into WD. Seems like a good move for them. Frog Bartlett and Macca match up against each other and I think the umpires would deem it even contest.... A shout out to our umpires, Nat Maher and Amy Rodda for being able to keep up with a fast paced game. Half time score: Gallagher Fencing: 20 Tayla’s Team: 9

21.01.2022 Men’s Basketball Grand Final Last night the guys went head to head in the grand final for the comp. Both were tough competitors but in the end, the score board showed The Globe Hotel boys take the win. ... Globe Hotel 50 def IGA Reds 34 Globe Points: Brett MacDonald 18 Brayden Hall 13 IGA Points: Cooper Willoughby 10 Aiden Free 8 Josh Flight 8 Game MVP: Brayden Hall

20.01.2022 Anyone interested in having a game of cricket this weekend? A fair few players are away this week from both grades so B Grade are in need of a couple of players. Game is in Katamatite but the club bus will be heading over so no need to drive.. and who doesn’t enjoy a bus trip home!!

20.01.2022 Santa is in town

19.01.2022 Going head-to-head tonight, in the mixed netball grandfinal is Tayla’s Team (who mustn’t have thought they’d make the grand final, because they didn’t name their team), and Gallagher Fencing. Both teams are fired up and ready to go. The centre pass is won by Gallagher Fencing, with Ella Harvey stepping into the circle, and the game is underway. ... We’ll bring you updates throughout the game so make sure your notifications are turned on!

19.01.2022 Strong passes start the quarter and a quick first goal by Chels for Sharkies. Ella Harvey and Chels working well to get the Sharkies in a quick lead, but a fast paced game means some early steps. Once again we have star umpires Nat Maher and Amy Rodda keeping the teams in check. ... Kat and Sandra, a strong combo for Rowdy Pineapples in the ring. Haylee Chadderton for Sharkies a tough WD for her opponent, Rachel Phillis-Campbell to move around, but Rach proving her strength and offering plenty of support for her teammates. Score at the end of first quarter: Sharkies: 10 Rowdy Pineapples: 7

12.01.2022 Gallagher Fencing start us off in the last quarter and a quick goal for them. Tayla picking up a crook pass from Andy and quickly offering it to the shooters for a goal. Macca’s jump height hard to beat in the ring. Clearly he is feeling confident, as he sits down to casually tie up his shoe. Putting him in the ring alone for a clean pass and another goal. ... Tayla’s Team couldn’t come back, but it was close. Final score... Gallagher Fencing: 33 Tayla’s Team: 27 Well done everyone. What a game!

11.01.2022 Tayla’s Team start the third quarter but a fantastic intercept by Ella Harvey gives the ball back to Gallagher Fencing. Julia Druitt showing her value in WA, moving quick and offering plenty of support for her Gallagher Fencing team mates. Andy May running in centre for Tayla’s Team so far... can he last the whole game?... Frog dives for the ball, which results in a ball-up. Plenty of obstruction tonight but all showing great sportsmanship. Three quarter time score: Gallagher Fencing: 24 Tayla’s Team: 18 A come back by Tayla’s Team?

03.01.2022 Hayley Hall stepping into centre for Sharkies but an early contact in the ring gives the ball back to Rowdy Pineapples. Not to worry, before we could finish writing about it, another intercept brings it back to Ella Harvey for a goal. Jill Kearney putting the pressure on in defence for Rowdy Pineapples but seamless passes from Annie Harvey in WA for Sharkies, are hard to stop.... It’s getting physical out there but all ladies are displaying exceptional skill on the court. Karma Newman looks to have sprained her ankle, and comes off, giving WA to Rach. John brings out the ice pack. Hope you’re okay, Karma! Lucky Mick Everitt is here in uniform to help Three quarter time score Sharkies: 34 Rowdy Pineapples: 21

01.01.2022 Four from four - Sharkies with the centre pass to start the quarter once again. Lots of fun and laughter on the court. Anyone else proud to have such an incredible comp in town? Haylee C gives a penalty to Rowdy Pineapples who can’t hang onto it and send it down the other end. ... But some quick thinking defence from Jill and Tash bring it back, and Sandra Braham for Rowdy Pineapples converts for the goal. C-Mac with a goal on the siren!
