24.01.2022 Happiest of Birthdays to our fabulous vet nurse, Jess.

24.01.2022 Who would guess this little face belonged to someone cheeky and full of mischief? Don’t be fooled by all the cuteness! Frankie, the 9 month old, Cavoodle, spent some time with us yesterday because on a visit to Grandma and Grandpa’s she thought the hearing aid she found looked delicious. Some medication to make her vomit had the hearing aid magically reappear... in many little pieces ... along with a few other bits and bobs that she’d also taste tested. Soon enough Frankie was on her way home, feeling just a little bit sorry for herself but ready for her next adventure!

22.01.2022 In order to do our part in trying to slow the spread of Covid19 we are asking our clients to remain outside while we examine your pet or process your purchase. We ask that if you are ill, have just returned from overseas or have been in contact with a Covid19 infected person that you arrange for someone else to come to the clinic for you. We request that where possible you limit the number of people attending with your pet, ideally to one per pet. Please note we no longer accept cash payments and request that all payments are made with Eftpos or credit cards. We hope everyone stays safe and well and hope that you understand the need for us to take these measures.

20.01.2022 We have had some enquiries about pets and the coronavirus pandemic and offer the following advice for our clients. As of the end of April SARS-Cov-2 (which causes the disease known as Covid19 in humans) has been shown to have infected three pet cats, one pet dog, six tigers, three lions and three mink in two mink farms. All these animals showed some signs of illness. In addition to these animals one pet cat and two pet dogs were shown to have been infected but showed no signs... of illness. PCR testing for SARS-Cov-2 (Covid19) is not yet available in Australia and when it is it is likely to be restricted to cases where common infections have already been ruled out and after consultation with human and animal health authorities. It is believed that human to animal transmission of coronavirus is exceedingly rare and there is no evidence of animal to animal transmission. There is no indication that pets can infect humans nor play any role in the spread of this disease. Whilst pet owners should always employ good hygiene practices such as hand washing before and after handling their pets and their food, we do not believe there is reason for pet owners to be otherwise concerned. At no stage should pet owners take measures that compromise the welfare of their pets. See more

06.01.2022 Dr William 21 AGAIN! Happy Birthday.

06.01.2022 We have had some enquiries about pets and the current CoVid19 outbreak. The following is taken from a communication from the Australian Veterinary Association. On 4th March 2020 Hong Kong's Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department reported that a Pomeranian belonging to a SARS-COV-2 (which causes CoVid19) positive patient has repeatedly tested positive for the virus. The authorities detected low levels of the virus from nasal and oral cavity samples on 27th February... and repeated tests on 28th February and 2nd March returned weak positives for the virus. The dog has not shown any clinical signs of disease. At this stage there is no evidence that dogs can become ill from CoVid19 and there is no evidence that they can play a role in the spread of this human disease. Whilst pet owners should always employ good hygiene practices such as hand washing before and after handling their pets and their food, we do not believe there is reason for pet owners to be otherwise concerned. At no stage should pet owners take measures that compromise the welfare of their pets. See more
