23.01.2022 Evening all, Please see attached for our award recipients for this season. Please apologise to your children for them taking a little longer this year. We would have really loved to have had a presentation night as usual but unfortunately we have had to proceed in an alternate version.... A reminder for all members, the point score awards are based on beating your pbs, not winning your races each week, it's all about improving your self! Please pass on my congratulations to all kids on a great season, I have really enjoyed seeing all them each week and look forward to seeing what next season brings for them. Lastly, we would like to thank and congratulate Lindy Thompson on receiving our Club Person of the Year award this year. Lindy has spent many years helping set up, pack up and time keep on club nights, along with being a great supporter of the Denman team when travelling to intertowns. 21.01.2022 We are disappointed to inform you that due to Swimming NSW recommendations and fellow club leads, the Executive Committee have decided to finish the 2019 - 2020 swimming club season 2 weeks earlier than anticipated. This will effect training, lessons, club nights, championship night and the final Intertown at Merriwa. All of these listed above will no longer be going ahead.... On a positive note we will be planning the presentation event once given the all clear to go ahead with community events, so please do keep an eye out for the date. 20.01.2022 We are looking at having Pat McAdam coming to Denman to facilitate some intensive swim training/instruction. Pat has been coaching for many years and has been a coach for the New England North West area. It would be on a Saturday from 11am- 4pm with time slots for different levels. Attendees must be able to swim 25m. Groups will be decided based on final numbers and levels. Possible dates are:... 7th November 28th November There would be a small cost depending on numbers attending. Please register your interest in the comments to allow us to decide to proceed.

16.01.2022 It was an extremely hot and windy day today as we welcomed back guest coach Pat McAdam from Gunnedah to Denman for the second part of our half day Intensive swimming workshop . We are very lucky to have had Pat come and share with us (and also some swimmers from Scone and Muswellbrook ) tips and techniques to help our swimmers improve their swimming in the water . We would all like to thank her for her time and look forward to seeing her again soon .

12.01.2022 Yesterday a small group of Denman swimmers headed to Singleton for the combined( due to covid)Singleton/ Greta Branxton Intertown.With rain forecast the weather didn’t disappoint raining on and off. Our swimmers did themselves proud by finishing 3rd overall competing in 80 of the 98 races. All our swimmers did their best in their individual races with some doing PB’s . Our boys relay teams had a fantastic day at the pool with the junior under 12 team coming 3rd and our open ...men’s team 2nd. Our junior girls relay team was also our open Womens relay team with all the girls being under 12 . The girls gave it their all against stiff competition and should be very proud of their efforts in the pool. A special mention to 4 young swimmers Ace(7), Stella (8) Archie(8) and Lawrence (9) in the relays ,who all showed maturity and determination beyond their years in the pool as they swam against children a lot older and bigger then themselves. A fantastic experience for them all. Intertown carnivals usually occur 6 times a year . However due to Covid we only have 3 this year. They are a fantastic experience for our swimmers to enjoy the experience of racing, the joy of teamwork and the friendly rivalry between our local towns. I urge any new club members (or existing ones)to please consider signing up your children for our Intertown carnivals .The races begin with age 5 at 25m breast, free and back .All 3 first places receive ribbons. The more swimmers we have in the water filling up races, the more points as a team we receive . Sometimes due to lack of swimmers in one age group and more in another your child can swim up an age group. The final point score for Saturday was : 1. Singleton 492 points, 2. Greta/Branxton 370 3. Denman 299 4. Muswellbrook 251 5. Scone 118 6. Merriwa 58. I would also like to say a big thankyou to Maree Medhurst for Marshalling our team and making sure that the children all got into the right race and lane all day.

12.01.2022 Hi All, Unfortunately the extraordinary AGM was held last night without any success. Denman Swim Club does not have a committee to move forward with for this upcoming season. If you would like to see the club function this season PLEASE consider taking on one of the roles listed below.... This will be the final chance for the club to move forward so please consider if you are able to volunteer. Nominations will be taken until the 10th September. Secretary Registrar Race Secretary/Point Scorer Carnival Secretary Training and help will be available for all positions. Failure for the committee to form will result in the Club being suspended for the season. Appreciate your time. Amanda

01.01.2022 Last Sunday our swimmers had the pleasure of guest coach Pat McAdam from Gunnedah for a half day intensive swimming workshop. Pat who was a competitive swimmer herself (representing Gunnedah at State, country and National level and with more than 50 years experience ) passed on invaluable tips and techniques to both our swimmers and coach’s alike in an entertaining and informative style. Her next workshop will be on Sunday the 29th of November again from 11-4pm ,and we are certainly looking forward to her return.

01.01.2022 Last Monday we were excited at the pool by the arrival of a new coach , Coach Buzz . Buzz who has been a Singleton coach for 18months previously and is very experienced and passionate about teaching the children to swim better , will be coaching our junior and senior squad from Monday to Wednesday . Buzz will be with us until the end of January. Amanda and Jo will still continue to coach the mini squad .
