16.01.2022 Wow, go Denmark! During December we were lucky enough to receive over $3,600 in donations for various local causes. A HUGE shout out to the Denmark Yoga Centre for their considerable donations made possible by their Saturday morning community classes; the yogis donate their time, entry is by donation, these donations go back to the community in some form...quite the circle of positivity! #Respect Like to know more about our funds and what we do? Check out www.dcfwa.org.au... Happy 2021 everyone

15.01.2022 Part of our first Great Foundations workshop on Saturday 25th July at the Denmark Community Resource Centre. Come on down!

14.01.2022 Seeing as you've asked....... The Denmark Community Foundation is fortunate in recently securing some major funding towards two amazing projects: * Great Foundations - Denmark Project, enabled by an Ecstra Foundation www.ecstra.org.au funded $100,000 grant to support Denmark's health and social well being e.g. Repair Café, Fiscal Fish and Chips financial and business tips for high school students after they leave school and more in the pipeline! * Umbrella Project - to help ...those disadvantaged locally by the COVID crisis. An Umbrella Group of local agencies e.g. Community Resource Centre (CRC), Chamber of Commerce, Shire, Greenskills, local business people and not-for-profits has been created and the Foundation wrote, submitted and will administer the Lotterywest COVID-19 Community Assistance Grant for $88,128.. Food, accommodation relief and financial assistance will be provided through the Denmark Community Resource Centre beginning in mid-September 2020. More updates on this soon. See more

13.01.2022 As a result of donations and fundraising we're excited to announce our 2020 Community Grants round opening on the 1st September. Big thanks to Denmark and our generous donors! Not sure how you can help? Easiest: Like and follow us on Facebook... Next step: Become a member (https://dcfwa.org.au/membership/) Show your support: Make a donation to a cause that you feel strongly about - any amount is welcome! (check out our different funds at https://dcfwa.org.au/#donate)

13.01.2022 The Repair Café is the first event being funded by the Foundation and running through the Denmark CRC and open to any Denmark residents wishing to participate. Earlier this year the DCF was successful in gaining an ECSTRA Foundation grant of $100K to trial new models for financial wellbeing The Denmark Community Foundation (DCF) is among only 10 Community Foundations from around Australia (and the only one in WA). The Repair Café will actively contribute to a more sustainable town, where everyone can find a place, where repair expertise is cherished and passed on, and where valuable raw materials are used in a responsible way. Particularly since the COVID crisis hit we’ll be encouraging locals to look to making ends meet better through repairing instead of replacing belongings and saving money.

12.01.2022 Big thanks to the 20-odd volunteers who came to make the first Repair Cafe such a success! Over 50 locals came through the Denmark Community Resource Centre and were assisted with fixing appliances, furniture, clothes, bikes and had countless knives sharpened. We had great feedback and would love to make this a regular fixture. See you at the next one!

12.01.2022 Our first event in the Great Foundations workshop series kicks off Saturday 25 July from 10am at the Denmark Community Resource Centre. Something for everyone!

10.01.2022 Less than a week to go until our 2020 Community Grant Round closes! https://dcfwa.org.au/grants

Like and follow us for updates! Huge thanks to the Denmark Community Resource Centre for partnering with us and to the Ecstra Foundation for making this whole thing possible. https://www.dcfwa.org.au//Denmark-to-trial-new-models-for-

These workshops are presented by the Denmark Community Foundation, in partnership with the Denmark CRC and made possible by a grant from the Ecstra Foundation Ecstra is a not for profit organisation committed to building the financial wellbeing of all Australians within a fair financial system. 04.01.2022 Denmark families, what are your most pressing financial concerns/worries? As part of our Great Foundations workshop series (made possible by the Ecstra Foundation) we're looking to tailor some specific sessions to help local families address these issues (which can be sent to us in confidence and discussed in general terms). Find out more and get in touch https://dcfwa.org.au/call-out-to-families/

03.01.2022 You've got something laying around the house you've been meaning to get repaired right? Bring it down to the CRC this Saturday! Get it fixed, meet some friendly local volunteers, have a cuppa...what's not to like? :)

02.01.2022 Just to let you now that our regular good guy, and knife sharpener, Stephen, is not able to join us at the Repair Cafe on Saturday 19th September. But we will have an electrician and general repairers and menders there, as well as a cloth nappy making demo and a sausage sizzle !

02.01.2022 20 Death doula sessions, 15 counselling sessions, 15 mentoring sessions. We're proud to have supported a local community member, Tara Devoy, with a grant to make these services available for free to members of the community who need them. Here's what Tara is offering: Counselling sessions... I am a qualified counsellor who will provide you with a holistic person-centered, empathic and non-judgemental service. I have an eclectic approach to my work, as I believe each person is unique, and therefore not one theory works for all people. Mentoring sessions The mentoring relationship provides young people with guidance and support to help empower, improve their interpersonal skills, and build their self-esteem. Doula sessions Death doulas are non-medical 'informed companions' who bring comfort, compassion, and support to people at the end of life. One visit may include assistance with completing your advanced care directive, provide information to you about end of life plans or simply a kind ear to listen to you if you wish to talk about death and dying. How: When you contact me, I will register you to receive one or more of the above services and we will make a booking with a time and day that suits you. Where: The Denmark Community Resource Centre for counselling and mentoring sessions or for doula services I will do home visits. Please do not hesitate to contact me and look forward to hearing from you. Tara Devoy 0421 923 942 or [email protected]
