11.01.2022 Time for some thanks To Mark Jason Cresp from DSR Energy for donating his time to install our network points this weekend and to The Great Southern Weekender for reaching out and doing a story on Denmark FM (yew!). Big respect and huge thanks https://gsweekender.com.au/denmark-fm-wa-new-radio-station/

05.01.2022 Ever been told you’ve got a great face for radio? Or fancied yourself behind a microphone sharing interesting stories, playing great music and really engaging with an audience? Or maybe you’ve got a great idea for a radio programme you think people would enjoy listening to?... Well Denmark’s soon-to-be-launched radio station would love to hear from from you. Denmark FM is an initiative of the Denmark Community Resource Centre and will be going live later this year. The primary aim of our new radio station is to share local music, news, information and entertainment. We want to celebrate everything there is to love about Denmark and our talented, diverse community. The station aims to be fun, entertaining and informative and to this end it will be a politics, and religion-free airspace. We’re not looking for potentially divisive or controversial topics but rather things that bring us together as a community. Our draft line-up currently includes: Morning breakfast show Community spotlight (interviews, stories) Book reading School stories (short interviews and stories produced in partnership with the five local schools) Lunchtime show Denmark music show (local musicians, bands, choirs etc.) Specialist music shows (e.g. Reggae, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Classical etc.) Gardening show Weekend sports Environment shows Shire news We have already approached a number of schools and community groups and we now want to open up the conversation as to how you or your group/club/school could perhaps contribute to the station and in turn promote its activities. All would-be presenters will receive comprehensive training for hosting a live (or pre-recorded) show from our purpose-built studio and/or producing content while out ‘in the field’. Community organisations, please send an expression of interest that includes: Name of your club/group/school Number of members/students Topics/themes/ideas for a show How frequently your club/group/school could realistically produce a 5 30 minute show (weekly/fortnightly/monthly?) Number of potential presenters who would like to undertake training Individuals, please send an expression of interest that includes: Topics/themes/ideas for a show or; for a specialist music show what genre you would be interested in presenting Please send an EOI by May 15th, 2020 to either: [email protected] PO Box 293 Denmark WA 6333 2 Strickland St, Denmark WA 6333 We look forward to working together to celebrate Denmark! Kind regards Matt Sivyer Station Coordinator
