25.01.2022 Janes Top 5 Presidential Moments NUMBER 2: Our win at the 2018 SLSWA was a celebration of the dedication of the Clubs volunteers. 24.01.2022 Jane's Top 5 Presidential Moments NUMBER 4: Denmark hosted the 2019 Surf Lifesaving WA Country Carnival on a stunning weekend in January. It was a massive undertaking for the whole club led by our fearless leader, Jane.... The club hosted more than 900 competitors and their families as well as 40 officials. There was something for everyone: beach events, well as boat, board, swim and ski racing. The food was amazing, the sun shone (though Jane had very little to do with that), and the event went off without a hitch. Don't forget: Our AGM is Sunday 28 June at 3pm. You can attend in person at the club house or via Zoom. Under the current regulations, the club can have up to 60 members present in the function room. 24.01.2022 This Easter let's try to help keep our beaches safe AND open... remember to not congregate in groups, keep your social distance from others, enjoy the beach and head home. Shire Lifeguards will be on Patrol Friday to Sunday 9am-5pm and Monday 9am-1pm. Stay safe.

24.01.2022 So many folks to thank for the awesome season weve had. Lets start with these two :) Thanks Rae for all your training and thanks Deb for taking on the Cadets. You both rock big time.

24.01.2022 The Club offers sincere condolences to the family of Donald Thomas Bourne, who aged 88, sadly passed away on 30 April 2020. Don played a integral part in the Clubs history and was one of a small group of locals who, in the 70s, saved the Club the folding. Don took on the prestigious role of Vice President and helped rebuild the member base and build the Club house (bottom of the current top Club house). His hard work and commitment helped lay the foundation for the successf...ul Club we have today. His family, including daughter Sue Sinagra - the Clubs first female to get her Bronze Medallion - went on to spend many, many years dedicated to and enjoying being part of the Club. Don will be very much missed. A funeral procession and opportunity to pay respects will be held tomorrow Sunday 3 April 2020, at McLean Oval and along Brazier street. You must be parked in position by 2pm (see map below), and it is requested cars reverse up so the hearse and family can do their lap close to the oval where Don played footie and helped build the Clubrooms. Please ensure you park at a reasonable distance and respect social distancing rules. It is imperative people stay in their cars at all times. Out of respect for the Bourne family please follow this Police stipulation and not cause additional grief for the family. People are asked to leave immediately after the lap has finished.

21.01.2022 REMAINDER OF SEASON CANCELLED Ocean Beach is a pretty special place and were lucky its our playground for education, training, and social activities. Unfortunately, after much consideration, were making the call to cancel the remainder of the 2019-2020 season - in line with many other sporting associations and Surf Clubs across the State - as part of our responsibility to help keep our community safe. The landscape is changing daily and we feel this is the most responsibl...e action to take. This includes all Nippers, Cadets, Senior activities, wind ups, volunteer pizza night and sundowners. This does not include Patrol as we still have a duty of care to keep the beach safe. We will be in touch with those who are rostered on Patrol this and next weekend. We know its disappointing, as being outdoors, at the beach and in the water keeps us happy & healthy... but as leaders in our community we had to make the call and here it is. Keep safe and keep having fun. Jane Kelsbie, President, DSLSC
