24.01.2022 Sugar can be directly linked to tooth decay. So, avoiding sugar can be the very essence of healthy teeth. However, in today’s world, sugar is hidden in many unexpected foods. So here we reveal them below: - Pasta sauces Though they taste savoury not sweet, the average person will have between 6 and 12 grams of sugar per serving. - Muesli bars... Whilst it sounds heathy, most muesli bars contain hidden sweeteners like corn syrup, brown sugar and honey. And not to mention most of them have chocolate chips or drizzle over the top. Resulting in them usually containing anywhere from 8-12 grams of sugar per serving. - Yoghurt Bet you didn’t see this one coming! But, yep, typical yoghurts can have around 17-33 grams of sugar per serving. That’s is about as much as 1 cup of chocolate ice cream. - Salad dressing Although it goes on salad, don’t be fooled. Sweet types of dressings contain around 5-7 grams of sugar in just 2 tablespoons of dressing. See more

16.01.2022 WE ALL know that brushing twice daily is the standard for maintaining good oral health, but how often should you be getting your teeth professionally cleaned? The general guideline is to have a professional clean every six months. However, this may vary depending on your needs, and the state of your teeth. For example, people with active gum disease may require a professional clean every three months, whereas those with excellent oral health may decide with their dentist that an annual visit is fine

04.01.2022 Does visualising yourself in the dentist’s chair make you a tad uneasy? Dental anxiety is a real disease! It can be associated with certain triggers such as the smell of the office, the sound of a drill or even the site of needles. Most people associate the dentist with pain This crippling fear can lead to boycotting the dentist and in turn major health problems. All of our members at the DSSWA do our very best to ensure going into the dentist is a pleasant and relaxing ...experience. We encourage patients to bring noise cancelling headphone to their appointments and use essential oils to help them relax. Our caring members work very hard to make sure all procedures are done as gently and pain free as possible.
