25.01.2022 If you have closed your dental practice or moved to restricted hours, it's important to let your patients and community know. Google is asking all business owners to use their Google My Business listing to keep their communities better informed about which businesses are open, and when. Updating your Google My Business listing also lets you provide specific information to your patients and community about special arrangements you have in place for emergencies, even if you you...rself are closed. I've written an article explaining exactly what you need to do. You can read it here: https://dentalwebstrategies.com.au/covid-19-dental-practic/

24.01.2022 It’s always a good idea to suggest to your patients and others in your local community to consider giving sugar-free Easter gifts. This year, since we can’t offer routine dental care for a little while, it’s an even more important message! Why not share this post from That Sugar Movement, or write one of your own.... Have a safe and happy Easter weekend!

24.01.2022 Don’t forget to take a minute to reach out to others today. Sometimes just a simple hello can make such a difference!

23.01.2022 This is hands-down my favourite handwashing video for children: The Global Handwashing Dance from UNICEF. This video was created in 2009 to mark the second annual Global Handwashing Day. Renowned Japanese dancer Kaiji Moriyama choreographed a dance for a public service announcement designed to teach children the principles of good handwashing. The dance shows children how in just 20 seconds they can properly wash their palms, nails, fingers and wrists. The dance has almost n...o verbal instruction, but, by simply following the steps, children learn proper handwashing while also having fun. Washy, washy wah!

23.01.2022 While it’s tempting to lift the spirits with chocolate and other treats, we know that it's important to enjoy nutritious meals as often as possible, especially in stressful times. In this week following Easter, when there might still be plenty of chocolate around, this is an important message to share with your patients and broader audience.

22.01.2022 Did you read this article was written by Melbourne Oral Surgeon and journalist, Krati Garg? Her concerns reflect those of dentists and dental teams right across the country. Consider sharing this article with your own audience, and add your own opinion and concerns. You can use the opportunity to encourage your patients to commit to maintaining excellent oral health, and provide some tips about how to do that.... And be sure to let them know about - your availability to provide consultation by phone or video link - your availability to provide emergency appointments for relief of pain - arrangements that have been made for emergency care if your practice is currently closed. #COVID19

21.01.2022 #COVID19 #DentistryInTheNews "A Sydney dentist has urged Australians to "step up your oral hygiene" and ignore the "siren song" of the pantry while working from home, after stringent new dental practice restrictions were brought in to address COVID-19 dangers." This is a great article to read and provides some fantastic messages that you can share with your audience. ... 'Cause that pantry full of sugary-treats can sure be attractive to people who are stressed or bored!

20.01.2022 I hope that you are enjoying a lovely Easter Sunday.

18.01.2022 Today, April 7, is World Health Day. And 2020 is the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife. That's why the World Health Organisation (WHO) is asking us all to take a moment today to celebrate the work of nurses and midwives and to remind world leaders of the critical role they play in keeping the world healthy. Nurses and other health workers are at the forefront of COVID-19 response - providing high quality, respectful treatment and care, leading community dialogue... to address fears and questions and, in some instances, collecting data for clinical studies. Quite simply, without nurses, there would be no response. It's therefore critically important that the nursing and midwifery workforces are strong enough to ensure that everyone, everywhere gets the healthcare they need. Please take a moment to thank all of the Nurses and Midwives that you know in your local community who are working so hard to keep us all safe and well. Visit the World Health Organisation's website for more information about World Health Day 2020: https://www.who.int//world-health-day/world-health-day-2020 The images we're sharing in this post are available from the World Health Organisation website. Please visit the site and share this important message far and wide. #COVID19 #SupportNursesAndMidwives

17.01.2022 There is lots of research that backs the importance of a good night’s sleep. We feel happier, more resilient and more focused with more Zs under our belts. This can be hard when so many aspects of our lives are so uncertain. If you need support to maintain good mental health, make sure to use the resources available through the Australian Dental Association's COVID-19 Resource Portal: https://www.ada.org.au/Covid-19-Portal/Dental-Professionals

17.01.2022 Wishing you and yours a beautiful Easter Monday.

17.01.2022 Today's Google Doodle is a goodie! #StayHomeStaySafe

16.01.2022 Tomorrow is Administrative Professionals Day. This is a great opportunity to make a fuss of your front desk team and other members of your admin team. Whether you've had to close your practice or to cancel a whole lot of appointments, your admin team have likely had a pretty stressful few weeks. Why not send virtual hugs and heartfelt thanks (and perhaps real gifts?) to each of them?

16.01.2022 Autumn has always been my favourite time of year. It's a particularly lovely season here in Canberra: we have lots of colourful deciduous trees in our city, and the weather is usually beautiful, with clear blue skies and temperatures around 20 degrees. Our overnight temperatures this week have ranged from a very brisk 5 degrees up to 13 degrees. Like many Canberra households, ours tries to hold out until ANZAC Day before we turn on our heaters. I think this is just a Canberra thing? We like to demonstrate our toughness in the face of cold. I hope that Autumn is just as lovely in your part of this beautiful country! Make sure you find time every day to get outside and enjoy the sunshine (or clouds or rain) and fresh air.

12.01.2022 May we all focus on opportunities rather than difficulties this weekend. Stay well and safe, Toothians!

12.01.2022 In uncertain times, a routine can make a big difference to the way we feel. This is especially important for children who are feeling a bit bewildered by all the changes in their lives. Have YOU managed to establish a routine for yourself and your household yet? This could be a very important step to maintain good general and mental health in these crazy times. Don't forget to check out the Australian Dental Association's excellent resources on Mental Health in the COVID-19 p...ortal on their website: https://www.ada.org.au/Covid-19-Portal/Dental-Professionals Stay safe and well!

11.01.2022 Many of us are spending more time with our families, which can have tremendous benefits. But we still need our own space, time to rest, reset and renew. Take a few minutes every day to enjoy some solitude, or to do something that makes you happy.

05.01.2022 Happy Tuesday! I hope that you and yours are safe, well and finding plenty to smile about, even in these challenging times. #StayHomeStaySafe

03.01.2022 Humans are designed to move. But most of us aren't currently able to do the sports, gym routines or fitness activities because of the current physical distancing regulations. Even with the loss of organised sports and the closure of gyms and dance floors, we can still easily incorporate movement into our lives. Even a simple walk in the fresh Autumn air can do wonders for the body, mind and spirit.... What are you doing to move each day?
