23.01.2022 During comprehensive examination, PFM on 36 was found to have deficient margin and secondary caries. This crown was done 5-6 years ago by patient's previous dentist. Tooth is asymptomatic. Existing PFM was removed and new PFM made with metal margins. Detailed description is in each picture. Enjoy!

23.01.2022 This lovely lady presented to my practice with a lot of worn teeth. She has always wanted to have them rebuilt and now is the time. Hope you enjoy her journey! Detailed description is with each photo

20.01.2022 Murphy's Law caught this lovely patient off guard. He normally wears his mouth guard religiously, just didn't wear it today somehow. Opponent head butted patient in the teeth. His upper teeth cut through his lower lip. Patient received sutures at local hospital for lower lip laceration and was cleared for head trauma. We opened our practice out of hours to see him and save these beautiful teeth and I'm typing here just after the treatment. At exam, 21 and 22 were still vital. Metallic sound when tapping and enlarged apical PDL. This will be a case that I'm following up long-term and will update as we go.

19.01.2022 Patient presented for a comprehensive checkup. There was no immediate concern, but pt did mention that she doesn't like the metal on 36 occlusal, as it makes her think there is a hole on her crown. Patient looks after her teeth very well. Due to open margin on distal surface of 36 PFM, we planned to replace the crown. I chose to do a new PFM with full metal margin to keep prep minimal and pt was informed of the choice and agrees with it. 37 was prepped for EMAX crown as margin is all in enamel.

19.01.2022 This patient presented with fresh lesions on 23 and washed out GIV restorations on 24 and 25. Again, nothing fancy, just everyday workflow and hopefully some good tips for isolation and efficiency. Detailed description is with each photo. Enjoy!

17.01.2022 We've been on quite a journey with this lovely lady, and that's probably an understatement. We first met Fiona in late 2016. She was very embarrassed about her teeth and would like to be able to smile again. As treatment went underway, complications occurred a few times and we had to modify our treatment plan. Fiona saw both myself and my awesome associate, Lorena Diaz, who completed all the beautiful composite restorations that you'll see in this case. We just finished the... case today. Fiona was over the moon with the result and gave us the biggest hug ever. Please find detailed description in each photo. Enjoy!

17.01.2022 This case took me 8 months to complete. Patient is a lovely lovely lady, who presented to me concerned about her chipped front teeth and a wobbly tooth that her denture hooks on to. After extensive discussion, we've decided to embark on the following treatment: 1. composite rehab for anterior dentition after wax up. 2. exchange amalgam into composite. ... 3. remove wobbly 25 and replace with new upper denture. Due to cost limitations, work took 8 months to complete and I just saw her again today for review. Patient is very happy with her new smile and is now onto regular maintenance. Enjoy!

15.01.2022 This patient has had a ceramic inaly for years. However, cracks are developing on rest of tooth and inlay itself has open margins on buccal surface (which is hard to see on the first photo). Options of direct VS indirect cuspal coverage were discussed with patient and patient chose to have a crown. So EMAX here we go again.

05.01.2022 I first met Ian for a consultation. He showed me a quote from another practice for a crown on 12 to mask the dark colour. He was curious whether I can do it for cheaper. We started chatting about how he likes his smile. He said he never likes to smile because he hates how his teeth look, they are all different colours. In the last decades, they've also become more and more crowded and dished in. We planned to do some wax up and take it from there. At the next appt, we trial...ed the wax up and discussed tx options of : 1. keeping 22, and use EMAX crowns/veneers to bring the rest of anterior teeth to match 22 2. orthopaedic expansion and orthodontic alignment, +/- orthognathic surgery. He chose crowns + veneers to get an instant improvement. We then did whitening. Yesterday we prepped 11, 21, 12, 13 for EMAX crowns and 23 for an EMAX veneer. Ian was very happy with the temps. We now await the final result.

05.01.2022 In this folder, there are 3 restorative cases, which are all simple everyday dentistry. The last photos is my next goal in everyday dentistry, to build composites with beautiful anatomy. Like always, I welcome all advice on how to improve. Thank you!

04.01.2022 This lovely patient chipped the cusp tip of her 33, which prompted her to come in. After avoiding the dentist for close to a decade due to previous bad experience, patient said she anticipated that a bit of work would need to be done. So we fixed 33 and did a comprehensive checkup at the same time. Existing composite on 13M and 11D are found to have open margins. Apical radiolucency is found on 12, which is negative on cold test. So during first appt, we replaced composites under rubber dam isolation after gingivectomy. Today we finished RCT in one visit. We were really pressed with time, so no photos taken here. But xrays paint a good picture.

02.01.2022 This lovely lady is in her 70s. She's always looked after her teeth and she values her teeth highly. So when cracks were found in 14 and 15, although they were asymptomatic, we discussed about the risk of leaving them as they are and the benefits of protecting them with indirect restorations. Patient chose to have 2 crowns. Let this be a reminder that age is never the sole determinant of treatment and it is utmost important to find out what patient values.
