22.01.2022 Congratulations to Emma and Johnny competing at their first Pony Club Dressage and show jumping champs at Burnie. They represented our club with great pride. Emma and Johnny finished 3rd in group A dressage with 28 junior riders and 2nd in Championship show jumping and 12th in Equitation (never done it before and now know what the judges are looking for) out of 32 junior riders. Thank you to the North West zone for a well run event. Fern Park pony club you did an amazing job hosting under trying conditions. Congratulations to all competitors and support crews.
22.01.2022 We are close to starting the eventing season, so here is a quick reminder about Body Protectors :) Body Protectors are now compulsory for the cross country pha...se of Pony Club eventing competitions (all grades) and must meet the current EA Eventing Standard. They are recommended for rallies/training days but are not compulsory and can be of any type if worn at a rally/training day. See more
22.01.2022 Great rally today. Thanks Carolyn for instructing. Our tricky little club with different level of riders Carolyn looks after us all!

19.01.2022 Wow! What a weekend. How do I put in words how proud I am of Emm and Johnny. Fantastic dressage and clear show jumping round but the 2 stops in the xcountry cost them any chance in placing. Our little pony club D’Entrecasteaux everyone of our members came over the weekend to cheer. Caitlin and Carolyn what beautiful kind ladies who give so much of your time to us, thanks Huntingfield pony club what a fantastic job you all did getting the grounds looking fantastic and the ...whole trials running so efficiently. All the competitors, everyone was so friendly and encouraging. Trials 2020 done and dusted. Roll on PCT dressage/Show jumping champs at Burnie. See more

18.01.2022 Emma, Pine Row Dat’s A Goer and Jacques represented D’ENTRECASTEAUX Pony Club today at Huntingfield dressage day in really trying conditions. Johnny was his usual cool calm self and posted his best scores for him and Emm with winning the novice 2B 64.706% and coming 3rd 67.857% in a huge field in the 1C. Jacques well what a superstar! With the winds nearly blowing Emm off him they went in and completed calm 1B test with a very pleasing score of 57.500%. Lots of things for them to work on but for his first ever test he handled himself so well. Thanks Huntingfield pony club for putting on a great day and keeping all riders safe in trying conditions.

17.01.2022 Things didn’t quite go to plan today with xcountry. Emma and Johnny had 2 stops. 1 in the water (yes you read that right.... in the water!) and 1 at the brush fence. In Johnny defence the brush was 98cm and he doesn’t know that you can push through it. But Emm turned him around and over he went. They did come in on time. Johnny is truly a legend 5 months ago he was in the paddock thinking he was retired, then he got the call up when Dexter injured himself. Only ever been around grade 4 Huon short course a couple of times to now be qualified and competing at grade 3 trials is a statement to wonderful breeding and training. We can’t thank the late Marion and Carolyn Kitchener enough for entrusting us with this special horse. *Edited to add we still have show jumping tomorrow.
12.01.2022 Emma is on the lookout for her next Eventer. With Dexter retired, Johnny feeling his age and Hope to smart to be jumping things in the bush, Emma needs a new be...st friend. Emma would ideally love something over 16hh (due to her long legs) and suitable to show as well as Event. Emma has regular lessons with Meegan Daun and Carolyn Kitchener and is a member of D’Entrecasteaux pony club. We don’t have a lot of $$$ but we can guarantee the best of homes. See more
11.01.2022 Reminder: As of 1st July 2020, body protectors worn for XC at One Day Events must by LEVEL 3 standard (2009 or 2018). At a competition, body protectors are compulsory for the Cross Country phase in ALL grades.

05.01.2022 Sarah and Emma represented our little club with class today at Huon short course. Sarah who was having her first ever experience of eventing did a lovely dressage test and show jumping but unfortunately had 3 refusals on the xcountry. Sarah received an encouragement reward. A very exciting future ahead! Emma and Johnny did another fantastic dressage test to be coming 2nd and clear in show jumping phase but Emma sat up before the first jump on xcountry and Johnny thought that a boogie man might be hiding which gave them a stop but they finished strongly with no more refusals to end the day 6th in Grade 3. Jacques and Emma had moments of brilliance and for Jacques first ever try at eventing a very exciting future ahead. They came 3rd. Thanks Huon for a well run day and organising perfect weather.
04.01.2022 Hooray! Rally held today.
01.01.2022 Emma getting her certificate.
01.01.2022 Hi Everyone As I write this, I also read there are three more confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tasmania which confirms for me the following news is the right thin...g to do. State Dressage and Showjumping Champs have been postponed to a date to be advised All zone and state games have been cancelled All rallies and club events are to be cancelled until further notice The Board will give regular updates, the next being 18 April. Tonight, all members will receive a communique from the Board through the member database updating you on the discussions tonight We feel very sad that we’ve had to make these decisions but in the end we need to look at the bigger picture. This is our hobby. There are people out there much worse off than us... getting sick, losing jobs, closing businesses. The best way to combat this is to be over cautious and this is what we’ve done. Keep riding your ponies at home, keep healthy and we’ll all be back hopefully sooner rather than later Karina
