21.01.2022 Help keep Derby and the Kimberley COVID-19 free! Weve done a deadly job so far but its not over yet! To keep yourself, your loved ones and your community safe you must continue to:... Physically distance and keep 2 big steps away from other people (if you can touch someone you dont live with - youre too close!) Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds or use an alcohol based hand sanitiser Stay at home if youre not feeling well and get tested if you have symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, short wind) Download the COVIDsafe app

21.01.2022 Thank you to the community for your patience while we implement changes to our clinic in response to COVID-19. Continuing on from last week, DAHS has changed its opening time to 8:15am to allow for all staff to receive a daily update on the current COVID-19 situation. Anyone coming to DAHS will be screened by a Health Worker or Nurse for symptoms of COVID-19. Those people who meet the testing criteria for COVID-19 will be advised to present to Derby Regional Hospital for fur...ther assessment. Remember if you have the symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath), call DAHS first to speak with a GP. Our priority is to keep the community and our workforce safe and healthy.

20.01.2022 Heres a Tuesday tune everybody in the community should be singing today and every day! Remember the most important way you can keep yourself and others safe during the coronavirus pandemic is to wash your hands, cover your cough and stay home or keep 2 big steps away from someone if youre sick.

20.01.2022 There are no active COVID-19 cases in the Kimberley. Some Beagle Bay residents underwent COVID-19 point of care testing and returned a positive result. We didn...t take any chances with the health of the community and treated these as suspect cases until more testing could be performed. Additional testing is now complete and the results are NEGATIVE. This means there remains no active COVID-19 cases in the Kimberley. Please be reassured that the tests used in Beagle Bay and Broome are accurate. Occasionally tests can give weak positive results which may not be due to COVID-19. There are systems in place to manage this. This is why we perform additional tests. We ask that all community members continue to follow health advice to maintain physical distancing from other people, wash their hands regularly and cough and sneeze into their elbow or a tissue which should be thrown away immediately. This will help protect them from COVID-19. It will also prevent the spread of other seasonal colds and flus. See more

19.01.2022 Don' forget to come down to the Derby Rec Center tonight and join us for the launch of our new 'Health Campaign' here are some photos of the filming. You will get to see some local faces from many local families. See if you can name them all... 5pm start hope to see you there.

19.01.2022 Keep strong, keep healthy, look after yourself and your community by following these 5 simple steps each and every day!

19.01.2022 Please be advised there is currently a Facebook post circulating throughout the community implying that children who attend school with COVID-19 symptoms will b...e removed from class and taken away by the Government for COVID testing without parental consent. AHCWA has researched the validity of this statement and has found the post to be fake and a hoax. Please see the following link for clarification: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/kids-covid-quarantine/ The post has originated from an unknown source in the United States and has been shared widely amongst our community, causing unnecessary concern for parents, with some electing not to send their children to school. At no point in time, has there been a COVID Act 2020 in place that removes children from school without parental consent for showing symptoms of COVID-19. Please do not share the fake post and please report it to Facebook.

18.01.2022 During the COVID-19 pandemic, DAHS is trying to encourage as many clients as possible to call ahead to the clinic before presenting in person. If it is possible we will aim to have a GP perform a telephone or video call with you to discuss your health concerns. This will reduce the amount of people coming into our clinic and help us protect you, protect our staff and protect our community.... In an emergency please call 000. For all other health related problems please call 9158 4200. We apologise in advance if there is longer than expected wait time to speak to our receptionist during this changeover period. We thank everyone for their patience and encourage you all to spread the word in the community.
