21.01.2022 Training during quarantine . Reposted from @ptjmuaythaigym Day 1 of Harm Minimisation Timetable in the bag A lot of fun was had by all with 2 out of the 4 sessions fully booked. Thank you for everyone who got amongst it and to our awesome trainers for planning awesome sessions.... Some teething issues with the bookings, so just a few things to keep in mind please for the benefit of your team mates: 1. Please dont book if youre not 100% coming. And if you have to pull out, please try to do it with as early as possible so the wait listed folks can get notified and fill the spot. 2. Make sure you check the time of your booking. The timetable has changes to it. Weve also added a 12pm session on Tues and Thurs to give more training opportunities to members. 2. At this stage, the app will only let you book your sessions up until your direct debit payment day. Were working with MB to fix this, so please be patient. 3. We did have to send someone home today because they didnt pre-book (sorry again), so to avoid disappointment, pleeeeeeaaase down load the app now and contact us ASAP if you are having any issues. Thanks and looking forward to another big week next week. - #regrann

14.01.2022 Shout out to bossman @andrew_ptjmuaythai for the write up . Giving @deren.muaythai his final blessing before taking on @hughodonnell on @siam2sydney Sessions event.... Deren started his Muaythai career with Rungchai M60 gym which attributes to his beautiful style and stance, from there he moved to a long stint in Thailand at @santaimuaythai and then returned to Australia and based himself with us at @ptjmuaythaigym The transition to us style wise was very easy, and hes a very nice guy so slotted into the team very well. He was used to long training sessions in Thailand (which is the norm) so when he arrived, the 1.5 - 2 hour sessions seemed somewhat short. We managed to get his first fight against Hugh to test his level. It was very important, as the trap at times for people fighting in Thailand for extended periods of time is that depending on how theyve been handled, they may not be up to Australian standards. So fight time came and Deren was very calm, confident and focussed which was a good sign. Hugh is a solid campaigner and this was going to be a good test for him as Hugh is very active, has a big heart and was on a bit of a tear beforehand. We thought wed test Hughs clinch and stamina for the whole fight, the challenge we thought was going to be catching him to do that, but it turns out, Hugh himself has been focussing a LOT on his clinch game and it turned into an absolute cracker of a clinch war, with Deren ever slightly nudging out the decision. The moral to this story as with yesterday was faith in your corner and the process. Deren was nervous about his fitness because of the shorter sessions, but trusted the process, and in speaking afterwards he was so surprised that even with those shorter sessions, he had a lot of gas in the tank. The other takeaway is that even though you may study your opponents, fighters at this level are forever changing, adapting a and improving, so its very important to be flexible with strategies during fights.

But it would be nice to have fights back... Pleeeeeeaaase @sportaus Can someone actually have a word to the NSW Combat Sports Authority? All other sports are back, why can't we even have closed events? It makes no sense. @ PTJ - Photajaroen Muaythai Gym

11.01.2022 . Reposted from @muaythai_australia_nsw Up next on our Athletes of MNSW is Deren Chen of @ptjmuaythaigym. I’ve been training Muay Thai for about 5 years and started fighting professionally 2 years ago. From 2017 to 2019 I was training and fighting full-time as a sponsored fighter at @santaimuaythai in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Santai gave me the opportunity to live and train there long term, and taught me a lot of what I know and use today. I can’t thank them enough fo...r all they’ve done for me When I came back to Sydney, I started training at my current gym @ptjmuaythaigym where they have only helped me improve on what I know and added so much more things to my game as well. Thanks Andy, Sing and Chok for all their coaching and guidance. In my opinion, if you’re serious about doing Muay Thai, you need to spend a good amount of time in Thailand training and fighting. You have the best trainers and fighters in the world, and just being around so much Muay Thai knowledge constantly will inevitably make you a much better fighter, much quicker than if you’re outside of Thailand. #muaythainsw #muaythaiaustralia #athletesofmnsw #athlete #nakmuay #ptj #muaythai #sports

06.01.2022 With the bro @nay.yrneh right after coming back from Thailand

05.01.2022 Tiny sparring breakdown with @sato_tomokkki @ptjmuaythaigym with @singmuaythai giving corner advice . 1. Switch left cross to the body followed by grazing left kick by Tomoki . 2. I defend with a long guard then miss with a right cross counter... . 3. Following the missed right cross with a missed left kick, then straight away switching it into a flush right kick . 4. Right kick is caught, and as Tomoki comes forward with a counter, I slightly push off his body with the caught leg, making his counter push kick off balanced and not land clean See more

01.01.2022 Little Tuesday night swack with the boss @andrew_ptjmuaythai . Reposted from @andrew_ptjmuaythai The doors are open in NSW It's going to be so interesting to see how the fight community handles this. ... What fighters have been training and to what extent? How long's it gonna take you to get ready? Even if it is just to have a crack. These boys have been working hard throughout along with a lot of others and I'm so proud of there dedication to their craft. Can't wait to see the first fighters back in the ring very soon #ptjpride #muaythai #nswletsgetit #fuckcovid19
