23.01.2022 Well, Hey there I thought that after 6 years of operating Derive Event Hire, it was time to pop up a token selfie- Apologies in advance My name is Jess, Perth born and bred in the eighties... I started Derive from literally nothing after being gifted a Giant Jenga set (Cheers to my sister Hoody)- which I still have to this day! It was a hobby up until around 2 years ago when I lost my job in the medical industry and 2 days later found out I was expecting! I have not r...eturned to my day job since giving birth to my daughter Cleo Lilac, and I am now totally dedicated to my little business - Bring on 2021! Being self employed is something l am proud of, however it sure is relentless & extremely hard work... If you are thinking of starting a business be prepared to give up your spare time, weekends, family, friends, and anything else that requires your energy and especially things you love; Once you run a business, you’ll notice that there aren’t enough hours in the day. But the days go fast! Or maybe that’s just because I’m getting old. Mid-Thirties-Crisis perhaps ? Covid-19 sure has put a spanner in the works worldwide... I am so grateful to live in WA, and thank my loyal customers and supporters for all of your encouragement and ongoing business Anyway enough ranting from me- just keeping it real... #Hashtag Nothing, I mean #NoFilter needed

09.01.2022 Unfortunately, after years of being a sole trader in the events industry and also during peak of the events season- it has come to the stage where I need to make one of the hardest decisions regarding business activity during the next few months for Dèrive Event Hire. Closed - Until further notice. This is due to the closure of most venues across Perth & WA and to ensure the health and safety of the community.... If, in a glimmer of hope things do change and improve with current COVID-19 and the restrictions the pandemic it is causing nationally and worldwide, I hope to be ready for business for Spring 2020. I wish I could do more to help in this situation. Not fair. So heart wrenching for all of my lovely customers I really appreciate all of my customers who have been so kind, extremely understanding and really easy to deal with considering circumstances. Hard times ahead for all but I hope we can all take comfort in the fact that in the end money means nothing and our health and well-being Is everything.
