16.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS to RUBY J & KEITH P who are our TWO winners of a full-year scholarship at the prestigious STELLA ADLER in LA after participating in APSs LA Act...ing Intensive in September/October this year. After weeks of going back and forth between Agent Peter Derrick and Stella Adlers Executive Director John Jack Rodgers, they are now pleased to announce the winners of the scholarship. DTE Agent Peter Derrick said, It was a really tough decision deciding who would get the scholarships. John and I really struggled to make the final choice. Everyone on the LA trip worked really hard over the two-week program. The scholarship could have gone to any one of them. The students did a two-week intensive course at the famous Stella Adler in Hollywood. They had classes on Stella Technique, Improvisation, Camera Technique and American Dialect. One of their teachers was also an Oscar award winner. Mr Derrick said, I can really see how beneficial the course has been for the actors, the confidence and knowledge they have bought back into class has been impressive. Ruby and Keith, who became good friends whilst on the trip cant believe their luck that they will be heading back there to study full-time at such a prestigious acting school. I was so excited when I first found out, then I had to wait for a week before it was finalised and I couldnt tell everyone my exciting news. Ruby said. I couldnt hold out in telling my Dad, and when I let him in on my secret he was so proud of me that he cried. It was so cute of him, such a beautiful moment. She said. Keith who found out a week after Ruby sat in his agents office with Peter as he gave him the great news. Keith said When I got the call to come in and see Pete I didnt want to assume that I had won the scholarship but it was hard not to think about it. Im completely shocked and extremely thankful for this opportunity. Keith is planning to head over at the beginning of 2016 and will put his head down and save as much money as possible. He said A dream of mine is becoming a reality and to share that with my good friend Ruby will be pretty awesome. We actually said on the plane ride home that we didnt want to leave and just wished we were staying there, and now we will be heading back there together on a scholarship. Congratulations to the two of them! Everyone here at the APS office looks forward to watching the two talented young actors on their journey in Hollywood.
