25.01.2022 Humpback whales off Tasman Island what a treat for the crew #humpbackwhales are migrating south at the moment heading through Tasmanian waters feeding on tonnes of krill before reaching Antartica. Wonder if we will see them back in QLD for the winter.....

25.01.2022 In line with world wide policies on limiting the spread of COVID-19 we will be suspending operations for an initial period of 30 days. Our reservations office ...will be contacting any passengers with trips booked during this period and will offer a change of date or refund for direct bookings. Thank you everyone for your support throughout the year, and we shall of course be ready to bounce back and sail again as soon as world events subside. Stay home and stay safe and for those Australians out there remember #holidayherenextyear we will need you :-) Best Wishes Jo & Warren ps In the meantime keep following us online we have so many amazing photos and experiences to share with you See more

13.01.2022 Wishing everyone a very quick ending (and see ya later) to 2020 and an awesome, wind in the sails voyage for 2021... The HUNTER is still at the Yard Brisbane taking the time to get some much needed work done, a couple of planks need attention and a colour change! Keep a weather eye out and see you in the new year!

12.01.2022 What a welcome to Hobart. Thank you JuliePorter CharlesBurns for a fabulous afternoon sail on your beautiful Tallship SV Rhona H. If anyone is in Hobart and wants to experience some real sailing with wooden boat enthusiasts, then look no further. You guys rock #woodenboats #hobart

12.01.2022 Have you ever thought of building your own wooden boat? An excursion down the Franklin brought us to the Wooden Boat Centre Tasmania where you can sign up to a course and start building We couldn’t resist a couple of pairs of handmade chopsticks from the visitor centre, now at home on Derwent Hunter Day Tours It’s also next to Franklin Marine pop in and see Ian for marine supplies and endless local knowledge and ever so cute greyhounds

12.01.2022 Check out the new and old Australian Marine Research vessels of the CSIRO Derwent Hunter (1952-1962) with RV Investigator (2014-current) Powered under Norwegian Steam (man -hauled booms and gaffs) the Derwent is a stark contrast to the technically impressive RV Investigator (but perhaps rather more economical to run ) https://research.csiro.au/acc/capabilities/rv-investigator/
