25.01.2022 ***LOCATION CHANGE*** The location of The Mills' free community concert advertised in today's DVG has changed, with Australian Made now playing at the Derwent Valley Council Chambers Park in Circle Street (not Arthur Square). Correct details as below:

25.01.2022 Any plans to upgrade Jeffreys Track linking the Derwent and Huon Valleys appear dead in the water. A Deloitte Access Economic report has found the 13 km track from above Crabtree in the Huon Valley, through to the junction with Hydehurst Road above Lachlan in the Derwent Valley, was not viable due to the cost, lack of support from local communities and industry, potential environmental impacts and low usage. The report was funded by the State Government. For the full story get the Derwent Valley Gazette, out on Wednesday.

25.01.2022 Out today! Grab your copy of the Derwent Valley Gazette, your locally owned and supported newspaper. We have an exclusive look at the new hotel proposed for The Mills, sport, a TV guide, crossword and much more. Merry Christmas to all, we will take a short break and be back on January 13.

24.01.2022 What a cracking Opening week at the pool. Caught up with our wonderful operator Tai today, whilst my own kids had a swim of course. But great to see councils in...vestment in the long awaited Family change rooms now underway, and due to be completed soon. This council funded project will enable mums and dads to be able to change and look after children in a safe space for all genders for example (mums can change boys without taking boys into the female changing rooms) and visa versa. It will also be disability compliant. This should be finished soon, along with extra car parks new and defined spaces for the existing car park, there is some real investment happening at the pool site this year. Get on down to the pool and support your local facilities

24.01.2022 Police investigate serious two vehicle crash Boyer Road, Dromedary Police are investigating a serious two vehicle crash on Boyer Road, Dromedary this afternoon. Police and emergency services were called about 12 midday to attend a two vehicle crash involving a black BMW sedan and a red Toyota Camry sedan on Boyer Road, Dromedary towards Bridgewater in the 80km zone. Emergency service responders attended the scene, including Police, Tasmania Fire Service, State Emergency Ser...vice and Tas Ambulance. The drivers of both vehicles were trapped in their respective vehicles and required extrication. The driver of the BMW, a 29 year old New Norfolk man, and the driver of the Toyota, a 30 year old Bridgewater woman both sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries. The woman’s two year old son was not physically injured. All were transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital. The road was closed for several hours while police including Crash Investigation and Forensics conducted investigations. Initial investigations suggest the Bridgewater-bound BMW crossed to the incorrect side of the road, colliding with the New Norfolk-bound Toyota. Investigations are ongoing and police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or witnessed the driving behaviour of both vehicles prior to the incident. Police also request any witnesses that may have dash cam footage of the vehicles or the crash to come forward. This information can be supplied to Bridgewater Police on 131444, or if you wish to remain anonymous you can phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestopperstas.com.au. See more
