25.01.2022 Its been a busy fortnight with volunteers working on a number of projects around the yard. Painting on ABL2 has been continuing with great results, one side is now all but complete. In the workshop, our small plant trailer has been fully stripped down and is in the process of being overhauled. Out on the track the formation around the eastern leg of the Wye has been levelled, and sleepers and rail are being moved into place in readiness for rebuilding. The frog out of the points at the northern end of the Wye have been completely overhauled, and whistle-boards have been installed for the yard crossing.

25.01.2022 To assist the Derwent Valley Council with their redevelopment of New Norfolks town entrances, DVR volunteers today relocated a wagon from Lawitta to our workshop for storage. The wagon had been being used as a road-side sign board, but had been unused for a number of years. Were looking forward to working with the council in the future to redevelop more of the Derwent Valleys public spaces along the rail corridor.

23.01.2022 As 2019 draws rapidly to a close, wed like to take a moment to thank all of our hardworking volunteers whove contributed tens of thousands of hours in the workshop, on the track, and behind the scenes. We simply wouldnt be here without their continued dedication. Weve made a long list of impressive accomplishments over the past 12 months, and made strides towards being able to once again access the Derwent Valley Line, but were anticipating 2020 to be even better. So watch this space! To all of our members, supporters, and followers we wish you a happy new year!

10.01.2022 Wouldn’t it be amazing to see passenger rail running again?! The Derwent Valley Railway Tasmania do an incredible job and today unveiled their latest restoratio...n, named in honour of Ted who is a cornerstone member of the association. My colleague Craig Farrell MLC and I expect to see Peter Gutwein keep his word that in next week’s budget there will be funding to support heritage rail with insurance costs so they can get back on the line.
