13.01.2022 Tegan joined the department as a generalist graduate. During my first rotation, I worked in the National and International Assessments team in the Curriculum and Assessment branch. The side of the team I predominantly worked with focused on international assessments, particularly PISA, the Programme for International Student Assessment, which compares the performance of countries’ with one another. I worked on a wide array of tasks, from drafting ministerial correspondence a...nd briefings and co-ordinating correspondence that comes to my team to reviewing stakeholder reports and assisting with providing strategic policy advice. Although I studied a Law and Arts degree at university, someone with a different background or qualification could do my job and the people in my team are from a range of different backgrounds. Apply for jobs even if you don’t think they align perfectly with what you have studied many organisations and departments are looking for a variety of backgrounds and experiences. See more
