24.01.2022 DAY THREE , FAVOURITE THRIFT FIND ..... it’s hard to pick just one when you are a veteran collector of thrift finds. But one of my faves is this vintage cane mirror, it was only $7! I find everything at the thrift store from clothes to decor to storage to things for the kids, everything can be reused.

14.01.2022 I’ve had a massive break from sewing as of late. It was beginning to feel like a chore and not a passion and that is something I never want to happen. I’m keen to spend some time reconnecting with myself and finding that fire in my soul again, there is still plenty of classic D&W designs on the website and I do have more in the works, I will mainly be focusing on lace and crochet kimonos and dresses as this is what I fell in love creating at the beginning. As well as the eco ...home products like produce bags and reusable dishcloths. I’m planning on expanding as a brand and sharing my spirituality with all who love nature and magic as much as I do. You will see changes coming soon. There will be crystals, oil blends and mystic supplies as well as a new partnership with @madey_brooks who will be running bare nude beauty, a holistic approach to skincare & beauty . We will be bringing workshops and magical gatherings and that is truly exciting. I look forward to wandering this new path with you guys and I hope you’re along for the ride much love | tam x See more

12.01.2022 DAY THREE | FAVOURITE THRIFT FIND My fave find to date would be this purple fringe suede jacket

12.01.2022 I pride myself on creating clothes out of recycled materials the love for Mother Earth shines through these designs , I see the piece come to life as soon as I feel the fabric. All creations are made from my mind, no patterns at all. What do you do to spark your creativity ?

12.01.2022 DAY TWO , WHY SLOW FASHION? There is no pretty way of showing this, this is reality. Every 10 minutes Australians will throw out 6000 kg of clothing , the amount of waste from fashion is becoming one of the leading sectors in household waste each person is estimated to buy 23kg of textiles every year... 85% of this ends up in landfill , with most of the clothes being sold these days made with synthetic fibres, this means it may never break down. This is my why when it comes to slow fashion, we need to be aware of the effect our clothing choices have on the earth so that we may be able to take a more sustainable approach. @guardian

11.01.2022 DAY SIX | TOP TIP. My top tip I can give people who are beginning a journey with slow fashion is to not be scared to step outside the trend zone. Create your own style , whether it be through second hand, vintage, ethical or sustainable brands. Don’t be afraid to break free of that stigma and do some research on the origin of your clothing label. Let’s all create a world where fashion waste becomes a thing of the past. Reuse old clothes , mend them, swap them use them for cleaning cloths , the possibility is endless. Think twice before tossing unwanted items into the bin

10.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone ! I hope you all have a great weekend

09.01.2022 DAY ONE , INTRODUCTIONS. Hi my name is Tam , I make all of the recycled clothing here at Desert and Wolf. This journey began over a year ago with one goal in mind, create beautiful clothes in the most waste free method I could. I spend my spare time searching through thrift stores looking for patterns textures and colours I can use to bring my designs to life. I believe that we have so many resources we can reuse , we don’t need to rob Mother Nature of any more.
