17.01.2022 EAGLE . Sold . https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/DESERTOWLSTUDIO... . Let me soar to heights unbeknown to me. All my life I dedicate my spirit to knowing truth, perceiving truth, touching truth and embodying the divine. My medicine is fierce, always a target straight to the heart. My knowing is all encompassing, my strength is patience. I sit at the vantage point of objectivity and wait, silent, hidden and ready. . Take my spirit to the place of the beginning times, where my ancestors gathered and flew in dreaming with you great brother. You taught us well, you teach us well. May we embrace your attributes in our own unique ways. May we soar in stillness, open our hearts to listen. Be objective without reaction and always strive towards the heavens. . 16.01.2022 What separates western, Magickal practices from the Eastern forms of meditation is the ultimate destination. Eastern techniques, such as those practiced by Taoists and Buddhists, aim to liberate the individual from the world, or allow them to transcend and escape it. The magician, on the other hand, doesn't seek to escape the world. He seeks to master it. He seeks to shape the very substance of reality through sheer will power until he creates heaven on earth, and there's no ...longer any need to escape. Magicians also believe in the presence of intelligences that reside on the more subtle planes of reality. Damian Echols

15.01.2022 Life always has a way of showing up when you humbly present yourself at her altar. It is needed, this hands in the Earth business, this reconnection of holy sanctity. Instead of always looking in as a spectator, I have realised deeply that we can no longer do this if we are to survive. We need to act in a living harmony and see we truly are a part of this great cosmic cycle. . I was reading last night as the evening dappled twilight kissed the sky. This quote by poet Robertso...n Jeffers spoke to the heart in me: . ‘... I entered the life of the brown forest And the great life of the ancient peaks, the patience of stone, I felt the changes in the veins In the throat of the mountain, a grain in many centuries We have our own time, not yours; and I was the stream Draining the mountain woods; and I the stag drinking, and I was the stars Boiling with light, wandering alone, each one the lord of his own summit; and I was the darkness Outside the stars I included them, they were part of me.... how can I express the excellence I have found, that has no colour but clearness No honey but ecstasy’. . So for most days now, you will find me here. Tending to what is needed, growing abundance, caring for the Earth and being apart of her rather than a distant relative. So much to do and so happy to be doing it

14.01.2022 ‘The way to maintain one's connection to the wild is to ask yourself what it is that you want. This is the sorting of the seed from the dirt. One of the most important discriminations we can make in this matter is the difference between things that beckon to us and things that call from our souls’. . Clarissa Pinkola Estés

13.01.2022 MAGPIE DREAMING . I have this Magpie that visits me most days. She swoops down to my table and sings the most incredibly melodic songs. It is said that a magpie has the most complicated song registers of any bird. I believe it because listening to my new best friends vocal range is truly something to behold. . Did you also know that Magpies, once they find their tree and territory, wont leave. If you be friend a magpie, you have a mate for life. Speaking of which, they... are loyal to their partner and take one soul kindred for life. . The magpie is one of my favourite in my many feathered friend encounters. And I’m lucky enough to have a family who have taken residence in our backyard and have moved in. . Magpie: Family, loyalty, friendship and pure joy! . These earrings are made with real magpie bone, adorned with cut moon inlay and little brass beads. They are light weight and unique. . Available See more

09.01.2022 ~ YEMOJA ~ Goddess of the wild waters of Yoruba . https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/DESERTOWLSTUDIO .... Penguin Medicine . These bones are rare. This penguin was found washed ashore in The Mornington Peninsula. I have held these bones in Earth for almost a year, as they told me they were not ready to cleanse. Sometimes, if not most times, that is the way. There are the whispers from these spirits that will always let you know when it is right and if it is right to honour their legacy and life in such a way. Many times throughout my apprenticeship with the bones, the spirit has said no. So I never touch them, I leave them to rest. . This spirit needed time but is definitely ready. Penguin is such joy, such love and playfulness and after such a long year we have all traversed through, Penguin is standing at the threshold just simply asking to invoke joy and light heartedness. And boy, don’t we all need a regular dose of that. . Each of the pieces here all share the penguin way/ medicine. As we begin to greet summer, may this incredible teacher show you the deepest love, the most light hearted joyfulness and an ease into the next cycle we face. . Made with love, always . https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/DESERTOWLSTUDIO See more

06.01.2022 Shop Update Live . https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/DESERTOWLSTUDIO .... Each of the pieces you see have been handmade individually with my hands. They have been woven under the last full moon onwards as a healing journey for myself and I hope for you also. . Every stitch has a story, every weave is a lineage. Working with the animal spirit realm is no small feat. There is a balance of energy exchanged as we enter the realm of the ancestors. These ancestors, eagle, fox, snake, wolf, wombat, emu, owl and others are conduits to another world and another way of seeing and orienting ourselves with the Earth. They are the guardians to a time where human and animal alike, were one, not seperate. . It is my hope, always, that as each piece is birthed out into wider spheres, that the archaic ancestor that resides within us all, is awoken to this connection, this truth and this interwoven relationship between you and the ancestor you choose to travel with. There is so much to learn from our animal kin, if we just take the time to listen. . May these pieces speak to that space within you and journey with you in strength and remembrance. . With a love that spirals ever outwards

04.01.2022 Real kangaroo tooth earrings with inverted crystals are on their way.... . https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/DESERTOWLSTUDIO

03.01.2022 SACRED RATTLE . https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/DESERTOWLSTUDIO .... As the rain poured down yesterday on my studio roof, I sat listening to a podcast about a man who went to The Congo to search for the last remaining dinosaur, believed to still exist to this very day. It was a funny podcast on the triumph of the human spirit, especially in times of chaos. Did he find the dinosaur? No. Did he come close? Yes. But the pathway through the density of Congo was really the story. Triumph over tragedy, meeting himself again and again, facing the darkest parts of his soul and succumbing to his human- ness. . I’m not even sure why I’m telling you this story really but it bought home to me the fragile balance that exists within each and everyone of us. That being human isn’t all that easy, it’s a work in constant progress and the trials can be immense. The pathway is never straight, even if we go on searching mystically for those things that may have gone forever. But what can never leave us is our innate imagination. Like this man, chasing dinosaurs. . May we never lose our child like wonder of the world, our mystic selves, our curious selves. We need you, dinosaur warriors, poets, artists, healers, mystics, word smiths, dreamers.... we need you now more than ever. When the world is crumbling down around us, reach deep into that well of imagination and paint the sky with your art, your thinking, your offerings and your truth. . Never ever ever ever stop chasing the mystery, even if that mystery brings you to the places you never thought were possible Never stop chasing dinosaurs . So this rattle is made because I’ll never stop chasing the archaic mysteries that breathe and lay as a soul print etched within my soul. Rattles, amulets, old art is a key to my remembrance of a time when it was so much simpler, so much more balanced and free. . My latest offering from my heart and hands to you . Possum bones, kangaroo teeth, rabbit fur and ancestors. May they be the guiding light always . Available See more

02.01.2022 This is where I lived.... this very tipi. Remote, Wild, cold and in the middle of nowhere. It was the border of Siberia actually, it felt totally unhinged and free! I will never forget just how cold it was ( see the snow clad mountains in the background?). . . I rode a pack of 7 horses from Mongolia, over wild rivers, barren landscapes, snow storms and deep caverns. I was kicked off my horse, fell down the side of a mountain, fractured my arm and destroyed my lower back but i...t was worth the journey. . . I met Ghoste, a most revered medicine man, dying in his tipi. And as he lay there, spirit making herself known, he still shared his wisdom and imparted so much knowledge. It makes me teary still thinking back to that time. . . As I rode through the Taiga forest we came upon a small encampment of Mongols who still traditionally lived in tipis and moved with the seasons, following the wild mushroom trails. It was a hard life, winter reaching -30deg c. We lived on smoked reindeer meat, mushrooms that were scented in pine needles and reindeer milk. . . It was this tipi that I was foretold a journey that was to unfold, a journey where this small studio was born. I am forever in gratitude to the unfolding events that came from this space and to the women who opened their tipis to me. They were a village of 14 families, 7 women shamans. Not the catch phrase of being a shaman, they had this passed down to them through their matriarchal lines. . . I will never forget this place See more
