22.01.2022 This year almost 900 school students participated in the EcoScience Schools Day as part of the desertSMART EcoFair 2019 at Olive Pink Botanic Garden. This event was organised by the Arid Lands Environment Centre supported by the NT Government through the Environment Grants program to enable it to be a part of #NatSciWk.

21.01.2022 Craig Reucassel (ABC's War on Waste) and Costa Georgiadis (ABC's Gardening Australia) visted Alice Springs Mayor Damien Ryan and Regional Waste Management Facility staff to get a tour of the Rediscovery Centre. Unlike Council's across Australia that are refusing to pick up glass for recycling, Alice Springs Town Council is paying deposits for wine and spirit bottles on Saturday's and crush them for use in Alice Springs roads and footpaths.

20.01.2022 Something special happened in early August. The desertSMART EcoFair 2019 was a great success, bringing the Central Australian community together around the key areas of science and sustainabilty as part of #NatSciWk.

11.01.2022 Vale Dave Nixon. Your energy, generosity of spirit and passion for telling engaging stories about Central Australia will never be forgotten. We express our deepest sadness and condolences to his family, friends and the community who miss him dearly. The EcoFair wouldn't be where it is today without Dave's filmmaking skills documenting the learning and engagement the EcoFair provides. ... Here is the first time we worked together in 2013 when Costa Georgiadis first participated in the event and he met with Aunty Doris. It was a beautiful moment in the beginning of a Costa's relationship with Central Australia. With the lack of a film brief, Dave suggested we do 'Costa's Walkabout' at the EcoFair and captured 12 different stories from the event. Dave has since filmed at almost all the Ecofair's since and captured the essence of it every time. He was instrumental in the success of the Bicycle Film Festival too. We miss you and send love to your friends and family at this sad time. https://www.youtube.com/watch

07.01.2022 One of the most popular events of the EcoFair is the EcoScience Schools Days. Here is the video from this year's event. Almost 900 students participated over the 2 days. Check out the film by David Nixon here.
