23.01.2022 This is so well done, a must watch! Maralinga Tjarutja land, located in the west of South Australia, was the site of the British Nuclear Test Program between 1953 and 1963. This documentary shines a spotlight on the 60,000 year connection to country of the Maralinga Tjarutja people. Jeremy LeBois, the Chair of the Maralinga Tjarutja Trust said This documentary is important to the Maralinga people because it gives us a voice to tell the real story of what really happened to the people who walked, lived and hunted on this land for thousands of years. Only through understanding can we achieve true reconciliation. #InThisTogether #NationalReconcilationWeek2020

22.01.2022 Hope everyone had a nice Easter and connected with families. We wanted to share a flashback photo with you, of the Indigenous Desert Alliance conference at Uluru last year. What an amazing event. The Australian desert is the one of the largest and most culturally connected areas on the planet. We are looking forward to another forum like this. Thank you to the Anangu traditional owners for hosting us on their beautiful Country. You can watch the film from the event here https://www.facebook.com/indigenousdesertalliance/videos/474400543211424/

20.01.2022 Regional towns and communities in Australia can learn a lot from the success story of the Martu-ku Yiwarra Training Centre in Wiluna. The training the local Martu people have received has had them work-ready for jobs like this one, finally sealing sections of the Wiluna to Meekatharra road. There is so much value in setting up training that fits in and is tailored to a communities values and structure. Then we can have local people employed for the big jobs in remote areas. This is inspiring stuff! Birriliburu Indigenous Protected Area Matuwa and Kurrara Kurrara Indigenous Protected Area

18.01.2022 Thanks heaps to Indigenous Desert Alliance for hosting the first online #SouthernDesertRangerForum! It was so awesome! Thanks also to the Birriliburu Indigenous Protected Area Rangers for their Waru presentation and the Gingirana Rangers who video linked in from our Ranger base in Wiluna. It was great to feel like we are a part of something big and connect back with the other ranger teams in a year where travel is hard. Thank you so much IDA!

17.01.2022 The Australian Government is investing $3.3 million to establish a rapid coronavirus Remote Point of Care Testing Program for remote and rural Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Under the program, people will benefit from testing times being cut to around 45 minutes. Once fully rolled out, there will be 83 testing sites in place across Indigenous communities most at risk, and most in need.

17.01.2022 More than 90 per cent of Australians support reconciliation but less than 30 per cent of non-Indigenous people know what they can do to improve reconciliation. ABC has launched a great website with help and ideas to support #NationalReconciliationWeek2020 #InThisTogether https://www.abc.net.au/events/walking-together/

16.01.2022 Coronavirus, or COVID-19, is a new sickness spreading around the world. It is important you stay in your community and not travel around. Do not cough or sneez...e into your hand, because germs can go onto your hands and your hands can spread the germs. Cough or sneeze into a tissue or your elbow. Put the tissues in the bin. Call the clinic or hospital if you have sick with fever, or have difficutly breathing, and have been in close contact with someone with coronavirus They will tell you or your family member what to do. Stay safe everyone

02.01.2022 Kiwirrkurra is in lockdown to protect our people from Coronavirus. This is an emergency. Police have banned travel to other communities and they will be patroll...ing the roads, including backroads. You can no longer buy fuel to travel to other communities. Coronavirus is serious. We want to do everything possible to stop it coming in because if it gets to Kiwirrkurra it is likely that some people will die. We are lucky that Kiwirrkurra is the most remote community in Australia. If everyone sticks to the rules we will be safe. Dont be selfish and break the rules. Kiwirrkurra Rangers are still working at the moment, looking after country and helping with jobs needed around the community. Our message to everyone is: Stay Home, Stay Clean and Keep Hunting for Healthy Bush Foods. See more

01.01.2022 Stay healthy everyone
