Head North from Adelaide to the Flinders, then To ...Marree, along the Oodnadatta Track to William Creek, Coober Pedy and North to the NT. or Heading South from the NT to Coober Pedy, William Creek, Oodnadatta Track to Marree and South to the Flinders. Ticking off those must see locations in the Car with the Family. Coober Pedy has so much to experience, from the Sunrise at the Kanku-Breakaways to Sleeping underground and Noodling for Opal with the Kids. William creek is the perfect spot to jump on a Flight and see Lake Eyre, Marree Man and more!! The Oodnadatta Track is a must, with the mid way experience of Plane henge or a little dip at Coward springs! Finish off the track in Marree with a Steak at the pub and decide if its the Birdsville track, Strzelecki Track or into the Flinders Ranges! Natural beauty, Great people and must See locations everywhere in the Outback (i didn't even mention Innamincka!) 06.01.2022 THE KANKU-BREAKAWAYS, SA This is about as close to Mars that any of us will ever get! Located 25km north of Coober Pedy in outback South Australia are the Kanku...-Breakways. A conservation park covering over 15000 hectares, home to red kangaroos, echidnas, the fat-tailed dunnart and numerous bird species. This unique landscape is also home to the Antakirinja Matu-Yankuntjartjara Aboriginals with the entire park listed as an aboriginal site. There are a couple of lookouts and a 70km scenic drive you can do from Coober Pedy. See the local Visitor information centre in town for details and permits. As always, please ensure to take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints.
