25.01.2022 And for those who have sewing/knitting crochet skills at any level, this seems to be the group to get your instructions from. https://www.facebook.com/groups/arfsncrafts/

25.01.2022 National Desex Month is almost here. I'll post all vets I see who are offering cheap desexing rates for cats, dogs & often rabbits too. However Many vets will do cheap desexing in July. Some only for concession card holders - some for everyone. It's a great time to shop around and get it done!

25.01.2022 I'm hoping this Event will bring much-needed funds to my little Rescue, whose remaining cats still need the care & attention they deserve and have come to expect. I've run out of money, loan possibilities, gifts, and the plain goodwill of professionals involved. I need to pay my vet some actual cash, keep paying my loans off and I need to keep feeding the kittykats their food, medicines & supplements, all while tending to my own dog's veterinary problems which takes all my personal money right now. I also want to shout out to Nat and 9Lives Cat Rescue for letting me use their Charity Licence #CC 21878. Without their generosity I could not run any fund-raisers, so a million thanks So come, look, buy and bid!

24.01.2022 Trying out the Event idea as suggested, to reach more people

23.01.2022 EVERYONE PLEASE NOTE~!! A PERSON CALLING THEMSELVES MAXWELL JONES, FROM ARLINGTON TEXAS USA, IS FRAUDULENTLY USING THIS RESCUE'S NAME AS A FRONT, IN ORDER TO TRY TO SELL DOGS WHICH ARE NOT HIS. THE DOGS' PICS ARE STOLEN FROM ANOTHER RESCUE'S WEBSITE. I DO NOT KNOW THIS PERSON AND I HAVE NO AFFILIATION WITH HIM/HER IN ANY WAY. I WAS WARNED OF THIS BY MULTIPLE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THE PICTURED DOGS. THE PAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED MANY TIMES INCLUDING TWICE BY MYSELF. I HOPE IT WILL SOON... BE TAKEN DOWN. THIS (REAL) RESCUE IS BASED IN YANCHEP WESTERN AUSTRALIA, NEAR PERTH. ANYONE CLAIMING TO BE WORKING FOR ME WILL NEVER BE IN ANOTHER STATE OR COUNTRY. I WISH THIS VILE CREATURE WOULD BE ARRESTED BUT SO FAR I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN ABLE TO HAVE THE PAGE TAKEN DOWN. IN CONCLUSION, THIS PIECE OF SHIT IS SCAMMING PEOPLE WITH PHOTOS OF DOGS THEY DO NOT HAVE, STATING THEY WORK FOR THIS RESCUE, HOPING TO GET DEPOSITS OR EVEN ENTIRE FEES BEFORE THEY CRAWL BACK INTO THE PRIMORDIAL OOZE FROM WHENCE THEY CAME. edit: my search reveals now that all info has been removed but 2 pages under the name of Maxwell Jones still exist, albeit blank at this time. I'd appreciate any further news if someone sees my Rescue's name used by another person, especially outside Western Australia & especially dogs, as I have no immediate plans to take in dogs at this time. Thank you all!

20.01.2022 TO MY MEMBERS, PLEASE HELP! UPDATE: I've now been banned from his page and all my messages warning people not to send him money have been deleted. See posts further down this thread for SCREENSHOTS of his ridiculous claims. This person has 2 pages and is using this Rescue's names to try to sell his puppies. It's probably also a scam as both pages are brand new. It would help a lot if you would go to both pages and report as fake or spam etc. This is probably happening even more than I know - I only found this out because a lovely American woman messaged & told me after following the link back here & realising that I don't sell litters of pit bulls! Well one page with my name on it has gone already but I'll post the selling page as I truly believe it's a scam. https://www.facebook.com/Free-Pitbull-Puppy-for-Adoption-104645691134933/

16.01.2022 I have a FAVOUR to ask if anyone can please? I need frozen food picked up from Petstock on Marmion Ave Brighton (Butler) before they close 5pm today or tomorrow & brought to me in Yanchep. Is anyone going that way? I've been sicko for a couple of days - better today than yesterday but should not drive that far. Let me know if you can so I'll buy it online & put your name as the pick-up person :) Thanks for your thought .

15.01.2022 Warning - Trigger Warning - extreme violence description. No pics. Omg I have just been sickened - my stomach is sick, I am shaking and crying ... next to this group name in my group list there was an indication that I had a message. I clicked on the message and was suddenly, shockingly, confronted with a horrific video which took me a few seconds to understand. A small kitten maybe 8 weeks old was being held by a string around its neck and at least 2 people (looked like girl... or young boys) were barefoot stepping & stamping on it, taking turns, all over the body & legs, only missing the head. Kitty was screaming & trying to get away with no movement of the back legs & the camera was showing its face as well as the further shots of the actions of the feet. Kitty was already badly damaged at the part of the video I saw. Somebody in the comments had written a whole lot of animal rescue words including my rescue name but most comments were maybe Thai or something similar. I am so, so sad & upset right now - I can't go back to look at the date. If I thought there was something I could do I would go back & have a look to maybe get some clues. I have seen some shocking things in video on here, enough to turn me vegan and become an animal protector but this was beyond anything I have seen before. The callousness, the carelessness, the freedom they had to do that. This makes me feel so helpless & hopeless that this goes on all over the world for the entertainment of children or young people & doubtless older people as well. What can be done?? How do we stop this monstrous behaviour?? Can it be stopped?? I hope nobody ever has to come across this type of thing accidentally without being mentally prepared either online or real life. Sorry but I just had to tell somebody. See more

12.01.2022 Now is the time. Later will literally be too late. Can you imagine Australia without koalas? That end is now in sight. Make the Govt throw money at saving them & their habitat!!

10.01.2022 Cars, other cats, dogs, snakes, being locked in, accidents such as falls, run out of own territory by a fearful event ... and HUMANS. Here's just one way a human can & will want to hurt your wandering cat. Yes I know your cat loves to go outside and wander for a bit every day or only ever lies outside for half an hour then comes in for dinner and I know it can be hard for some cats to learn to live indoors but outside is DANGEROUS. If anyone wants to learn how to keep their c...at indoors and/or how to have a perfectly happy indoor cat, please message me and I'll be very happy to non-judgementally give my advice. I am the former owner of about 16 indoor/outdoor cats over about 30 years who died an accidental death or went missing forever (not counting the times that one disappeared for a while or had an accident and incurred vet costs) so I've been there myself. 09.01.2022 Found Floreat Beach 8/5. - Read updates written since I first posted this. She has been surrendered by owner and is now being pampered and loved and cared for medically.

09.01.2022 More from Hanly Vet - female desexing included too plus they are offering $65 DOG VACCINATIONS on Dec 23 & 24 due to the current parvovirus epidemic in some Perth areas. Bookings essential.

08.01.2022 I must share this fundraiser for another Rescue because it's a bit awesome. In half an hour it begins!

08.01.2022 To all my wonderful followers, members, donors, participants, readers, drivers, offline assistants and anyone who doesn't fall into those categories but are nevertheless reading this now, I'm wishing you a happy day and thank you!

07.01.2022 Excellent presentation of advice regarding defensive biting by a dog and how to avoid it.

06.01.2022 I'm getting ready for the next AUCTION - bidding & straight out buying - there's a lot already there & I have more to list so take a look & look again! TO ENCOURAGE PARTICIPATION I'M GOING THRU THE LIST TO LOWER THE OPENING BIDS & MOST OF THE BIN ITEMS ALREADY HAVE REDUCED PRICES. I understand that everyone's donation dollars are going towards the bushfire devastation for the people and the animals. I am also donating - I am on a lot of newsletter lists for animal & human ...welfare & conservation organisations and to most appeals I've given around $10 each because it's breaking my heart and I feel that if everyone, no matter what their situation, gives just a bit then it all adds up. So I am not asking for donations for a while but if you're interested in buying or bidding on any item and getting something for your money, then here's your chance because I have to pay the bills somehow too. I had to evacuate some of my cats because not only was I involved in the Yanchep bushfires but straight after that I was in hospital (bless you Kay Hunton & Christa for your assistance!) Before that my elderly father was in hospital for 2 months and then over Xmas, my elderly mother was in a different hospital for 6 days. The fuel bills alone took a toll on my personal income. Both my dogs went to the vet yesterday to have C3's against the parvo risk around here where they were also diagnosed with other issues. Tilly was limping badly for a day & an x-ray showed ... you guessed it ... cruciate ligament damage to the right hind leg (she had surgery for the left cruciate a couple of years ago) - and Kasi who is nearly 12yo has developed a Grade 3 heart murmur since her last check-up. All this is going to need all my personal income and more - I'll need to borrow to my limit and it still won't be enough. So to keep the rescue cats in funds I must raise money for them. There have been no adoptions for a long while. I'm giving Mike & Trooper supplements for their arthritis & they'll each be getting a Zydax injection next week (this is annual). Both are otherwise healthy and their surgeries have made great improvements to their quality of life. Both are ready for adoption. Until that happens I need to ask for your attention to my auctions so I can keep up their quality diet and the usual parasite treatments. It's been a long time since I raised any money but with these diagnoses to my own dogs I need to do this. Thanks in advance for your positive responses! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1786063658367881/ See more

06.01.2022 For your home or a bush site close by ... Here is something for the slightly handy person to do. It doesn't sound difficult for someone with the right tool and how awesome for the critters wherever you put one or more in the bush! Just remember to refill but following instructions will help reduce that to a minimum

05.01.2022 Many people write to animal/rescue groups looking to borrow a humane CAT TRAP. Currently there's one on SALE ($54) with FREE SHIPPING from KOGAN - why not buy one for yourself and to loan out when you're not using (I advise only loaning to people you know or getting a deposit first.) Dimensions: 65(L)x24(W)x29(H)cms https://www.kogan.com//humane-live-animal-trap-possum-ra/

05.01.2022 WHO IS IN NEED OF A WARM & CUDDLY, SUPER-FRIENDLY FURRY FELINE BODY WHICH IS ALSO CHOCKABLOCK FULL OF PERSONALITY?? I HAVE ONE WHO NEEDS A FOSTER CARER! Look at the pic - yeah I know, it looks like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth! However .... Pav (or Pavlich; his whole name), has lived with me for many months - he is my son's cat and because of circumstance, some of which I will let the lucky carer know, he is now being put up for adoption. He is truly a delightful cat but... a little naughty as are all big personalities - he steals food though he now knows it's forbidden so he's become a little sneakier, but his main issue here is that one of my own cats HATES him and they've begun to have fights. My girl announces herself by hissing & growling when he gets close & Pav thinks that's a lot of fun so begins to stalk her and so on & on & it's getting worse. There is no problem with any of the other 7 cats here - he fitted right in from Day 1 - and he's very happy to meet any human. He grew up with children and dogs and had a great relationship with the smaller dog (which is why he plays so roughly & why my cat hates him). My own dogs (a large & a small) are a little intimidated by him but I think only because he's at the centre of so much noise and battle! Pav is a lap cat when he feels like it and is forever up for snuggles, petting, and any kind of attention. He never bites or scratches so is safe for children over toddler age. He is honestly so much fun and very outgoing and would make a wonderful companion for people who are home a lot or who have other pets he will get on with. He's not yet listed for adoption (I think I'm procrastinating in the hope that my son can find some way to take him back - but it definitely won't happen during this time when he can't even move house.) I just need to give my little Georgie girl some peace & also myself since the noise and friction mainly happens at night. As a foster carer you will keep Pav inside at all times and treat him as your own loved boy. I pay for his food and any vet bills, though he is very healthy. You will just buy the litter. He is chipped and desexed. Since he's been fed within a group he is overweight so you will need to feed a reduction diet with no treats. Interested in helping me with this awesome boy? Please message me or comment below so I can message you. See more

04.01.2022 **HEADS UP** to those always needing a *CAT TRAP*. Realsmart currently has them on sale in 4 sizes (cats & dogs) starting from $39. I did a "fake" buy for the 2nd size up & shipping was only $5.95 so that's very reasonable. I've used one from there before - well I've given it out to be used & it has been; constantly, and still going strong after about 2 years so they're durable. Just scroll down a bit here - https://www.realsmart.com.au/pet-care

02.01.2022 Please consider doing this which would be a huge help with Perth's "cat problem". Feeding the colonies is a vital part of trapping & desexing adults plus rehoming kittens. It's something to be really proud of and to show your kids about that circle of life and what it really means.

02.01.2022 Happy New Year to all! (and a story) - thank goodness it's 2020 which is so much easier to say than any year in the last 20! I am currently typing with a few fingers missing in action, due to helping someone with 5 very wild kittens (teaching the carer to burrito-wrap them for domestication) and forgetting some basic training. I don't usually - have NEVER - handled cats that terrified - even the airport litter hardly actually bit - so yes I forgot a very basic first action - ...Scruffing! I am so against the scruffing of cats simply to make them easier to subdue that I don't usually do it but these were tinies and the last one, when I finally remembered, didn't bite my fingers at all and would not have been put out by being scruffed either, being very lightweight and straight from mumma. So I have learned my lesson & the next few days will see if I'll need medical treatment on my 2 index fingers & one middle. Currently the fingers are "resting" haha. Btw yes I was wearing thick rubber gloves so the teeny teeth wouldn't have gone very far in so I'm banking on that to assist me - nevertheless they are very sore & bruised from multiple bites. Wish me luck! See more

01.01.2022 Hi my lovely followers, just taking a minute here to explain something to most of you who are unaware. First, I WILL be back, I WILL be sending the raffle prizes. Right now the universe is putting some uncalled for craziness into my life though. Since last Wednesday there have been massive bushfires all around my home (Yanchep). It would have been on the news if you watch that. The first day I received a text from DFES to evacuate but I couldn't fit all the animals into my s...Continue reading
