24.01.2022 How is Design contributing to improve our communities? Dr Chris Kueh and Dr Jo Jung from ECU Design, together with colleagues from ECU School of Education, Dr J...ohn ORourke and Christina Holly, explored the role of Design in developing communication tools to aid collaboration between teachers, health professionals, parents and secondary students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). An organic and semi-structured design process allowed stakeholders to re-define communication challenges, and to prototype draft solutions. This process saw people from various background and experience building empathy with other parties, while embracing creativity to iterate possibilities. 23.01.2022 ECU Design is committed to deliver contemporary and cutting edge design education. Today we wrap up the unit Service and Transformation Design. The topic for this semester was on service innovation in healthcare. We are grateful to have Senior Design Consultant @Phil Delalande from Telstra Purple onboard the unit. Phil is the leader in healthcare design in Western Australia. He was excited to hear about the focus of our unit at ECU Design and passionately contributed his time... to teach a class and to spend time today to give valuable feedback to students final draft. Despite the unprecented situation that we are in, the unit was delivered fully online with latest online platform that allows students to learn about service and transformation design. Many students commented that the unit has changed their direction of what they want to do as a designer! We are grateful for Phil and Telstra Purple for their commitment in nurturing young designers!
