03.01.2022 BALEMO | A place of our own. We are in the process of renovating our own home and would love to invite you all to share our experience. You may not know that IN-TERIA is Karryn & Dean and that we are partners in life as well as work. Dean is an architect and Karryn is an interior designer. Our house was built in the mid 1950's as a holiday shack for a family from Hobart, Tasmania. Perched on the very edge of the Derwent River, and suffering greatly from prolonged exposure a...nd neglect, it forms part of a small and friendly coastal community. Our principal goal is to enhance the existing qualities of our home and connect to the surrounding landscape in a more substantial way whilst also removing the very large amounts of toxic asbestos cladding. Yikes! The bones, and the layout, of our house, are pretty good but we are making a few changes so that it can better suit the relaxed lifestyle we value so much. This is very much a long-term project, and we have only just begun, but we think it will be worth the effort. This place is everything to us ~ it shelters us during storms, cradles our hopes and our dreams, holds us together and connects us with friends and family. This is our view. Please join us.
