03.01.2022 Are you proactively seeking career growth in your organisation? Career growth needs energy from both you and your organisation. A study by Weng et al., (2012) suggested that three things ensure organisational career growth: 1) having and progressing towards career goals 2) ability development (opportunities to learn new things) and 3) the speed with which you are rewarded/promoted... Have you set your intentions/goals? Do you feel like you are working towards them and developing new knowledge and skills? Is your organisation recognising your development or looking like they might? The Labour market is super fluid - people move jobs around 12 times now in a career. If you are stuck and feel like these three elements are not happening for you it might be time to consider a change either by creating something where you are or moving on so you can grow!
