25.01.2022 My latest pattern test was the Olivia lingerie set from @designerstitch This was my first time making undergarments so I was pretty nervous beforehand. Most o...f it was easy. The foldover elastic gave me a bit of trouble at first but after a little practice and many YouTube tutorials I feel more confident in sewing it AND I learned a new skill! I did make a few alterations to the original pattern. I shortened the bralette about 2", lined both pieces in a nude power mesh for a little extra support and to enclose the seams, and I added a contrast panel on the knickers that matches the bralette. Its a little hard to see in photos since my main fabric is a dark green velvet and my contrast fabric is a black mesh with a velvet scroll pattern but in person its STUNNING. STORYTIME: I gotta tell you I feel so damn elegant and irresistible in my velvet lingerie! For the past several years Ive struggled with a trauma induced eating disorder which made it nearly impossible for me to gain the weight back that I lost from when I was ill (separate incident. 2017 was not a good year for me health wise. I dropped over 20 pounds from being sick). Since then its been hard for me to accept my "child sized" tiny body. Ive never shown this much skin before so I was really nervous beforehand but I was determined to use this photoshoot to help me feel beautiful and comfortable in my own skin again. Well it worked. I FEEL LIKE A F*CKING GODDESS (Sorry for the language lol) I cant stop looking at these photos and thinking about how incredible I look. Ive shared a few of my favorites.
