21.01.2022 Friday Fashion Fun? Fact: Did you know? The fashion industries is one of the biggest contributors to pollution in the world and accounts for 10% of the worlds carbon footprint. What can you do to avoid damaging the environment you ask? - Try to avoid cheap fast fashion like k-mart or Zara (If you like affordable clothing try thrift shops instead)... - Dispose of and recycle your clothes properly. (Synthetic fibres like Polyester and Acrylic are not Biodegradable donate them to second hand stores or through fabric recycling programs) - Dont buy new jeans unless they are made with Waterless or water saving techniques. (Traditional jeans manufacturing techniques use 7,600 litres of water per pair. Thats the daily intake of ~2000 people) - And always remember to do your own research to make sure your favourite brand isnt turning an entire countries water supply purple with carcinogenic dyes.
