Check them out below and send us your photos :) Picture description: The suggestions each have their own page. The pages are as follows: 1. Make something for a friend or family member. 2. Donate some of your unused items to a local Op Shop. 3. Bake something for a family member of friend. 4. Compliment someone. 5. Send a card letting a person know what is special about them. 17.01.2022 At the start of the week, DLI Client Michael and his DE Jaclyn checked the weather for the week during their skill building therapy session. When Michael discovered that it was going to be 33 on Wednesday, they discussed what we should do when it's hot. Michael came up with some great tips and we thought it would be great to share; - Drink a lot of water - Have an ice block... - Ensure you have a cold lunch - Wear a hat and sunscreen Picture description: Image one is DLI Client Michael holding up an iPad that is showing the weather forecast. Michael is seen to look towards the camera and smile. Image two is a picture of the Ipad showing the weather for this week.

17.01.2022 ~ Emotions at Christmas ~ Christmas time can be jolly and fun, and can also bring lots of other emotions. This time of year can be overwhelming with lots of expectations and big events and it's totally okay to feel what you feel. It's okay to take time out and check in with yourself and those around you.... We have put together a communication tool around 'Emotions at Christmas' to facilitate discussions and acknowledging these feelings with each other. * There are blank spaces to allow opportunity to personalise the board. Please contact us via email: [email protected] or message for a PDF version.

17.01.2022 We hope week one back at school has been great for all! As its almost the end of the week, its the perfect time to sit and reflect with your child on how the school week was and ask questions to help prepare for next week. Here is DLI client Ava and her sister Mia filling out their "back to school work book" last week in preparation and it seemed to have helped prompt some expression of emotions towards going back to school.... This activity book is printable and ready to use in the lead up to, and during the first week of the school year. If you would like a PDF version to print please private message us or email [email protected]

03.01.2022 RP - Environmental Restraint Common practices we see in this space include restricted access to rooms, iPad, phones, sharps, food or accessing the community. Environmental restraint can be difficult to identify, as this category of restriction is broad and vast. Knowing when a practice is an environmental restraint and considering the potential impact to the person is necessary. This is to protect the dignity and human rights of people with disability, and reducing and eliminating its use.

01.01.2022 Stefania The DLI DESS Team have a new face at the hub!! We are very excited to bring another DE into the DESS Team.
