25.01.2022 As I battle the jungle that is my garden, I remind myself of the importance of line..........that principle whether multiple or singular, allows your eye to travel to the next exciting vista. Summer is also one of those seasons where we want to de clutter and experience fresh open clean lines and materials.

21.01.2022 Today's balmy breeze, and bight sunshine reminded me of my Island home. It'll be a while before we can travel overseas, but in the meantime let's enjoy the happiness of certain colours, and the simplicity of form!

12.01.2022 Hello everyone! For those of you who know me, and for those who don't, my name is Despina, and I've been designing interior spaces for 33 years! The months in isolation, allowed me time to reflect, and realign my goals and aspirations. Life takes you on unexpected journeys to test your resilience and stamina, and so now its time to move on to the next chapter. Through these pages on FB & Insta, I'll be publicly sharing my likes & dislikes, creating spaces, for you to like or dislike, and sharing insights on colour trends, pattern and form. 05.01.2022 A big heartfelt thank you to all of you who have chosen to follow my page, I promise to keep things interesting! As much as it pains me to say this.......overseas travel will be off limits, for a while yet! This however, should bring on a sense of nostalgia, for what we once did, and for all those things we bought back, and didn't know where to place. It's now time to start looking at what we have, and repurposing its value. For example, there maybe, old deck chairs which ha...ve seen better days, look at their form.....can they be remodelled as a lounge chair? Leather, hide, or any upholstery fabric, can give new life, to an existing frame. High back dining chairs, can be cut down to the top of your waist, lumber height, repainted, reupholstered, and ready for a new decade. Experiment with exotic detailed hinges, key locks, or lions head pulls, and change the background material to concrete, or stone. Let's look at what we have, with creative eyes, and repurpose with a sense of nostalgia. I promise you, we will be richer for it! See more

02.01.2022 It is with great sadness that I confess, I knocked my antique Tang horse, last night and broke it.......if anyone knows how or who can repair this for me let me know!!!!

01.01.2022 As with all things 2020, Pantone decided to add an extra challenge for us designers by announcing the new colour of the year! A strange combination of sunny bright " illuminating yellow" and "ultimate grey".......the yellow yes, it is bright and illuminating.....great for way finding, and to add a burst of "over here " ! But to refer to a simple neutral........uncharacteristic grey.........as ultimate? I think someone hit the Christmas punch a bit early! Always remember to balance and stabilise your colours, and have fun! All is not lost.
