11.01.2022 I am sharing this because a customer gave us a negative review even though they never used our app to make a booking and just unloaded on us because the driver used our POS terminal to process a credit card so our logo got blamed but we also feel the driver was accused unfairly and I would like to explain why. The lady has since removed her comment and we thank her for it but sharing some clarity on taximeter charges so that you don't feel ripped off when you need to go some...where quickly by getting a cab from the airport rank. TRUTH ABOUT TAXI FARES FROM SYDNEY AIRPORT: Cabs and Ubers at Sydney airport incur ridiculous tolls and government fees so be aware of them so if you get a cab from the airport you don't feel you are being ripped off... for its always cheaper going to the airport than coming back. Taxi fare breakdown from Domestic Airport: Taxi fare true cost: + $3.60 Flag fall + $1.10 Gov uber levy + $4.75 Airport Toll So the fare is $9.45 as you move off the rank at domestic airport and you still have the time and distance charges after that and near the International airport will probably be another $10 for that distance. If the trip was Domestic Airport to Rockdale it will probably be $27 in a Cab and $3 cheaper in an UberX. In any case travelling to the Domestic Airport from Rockdale will be cheaper as there is no airport toll when dropping passengers off. See UberX estimate attached for even a Rockdale trip will probably be $27 which may feel high as the return trip will be $5 cheaper and it's simply because of the airport pickup toll.
