Just 10 mins drive north of Warwick there's a farm with sunflowers. Take Willowvale Rd heading west off the New England Highway, near the Cunningham Highway intersection. Remember, that farms are private property so please take your photos from the roadside, not o...n the farmers land. Park safely and watch for trucks when crossing roads! The landscape here is truly amazing, we fell in love with this place the moment we saw it. Flat farmlands, rolling hills, sheer cliffs its unique, so diverse and ever-changing and then in the rainforest, its like youve stepped into another world. Youre surrounded by ancient habitats, its incredibly fresh and so cool, even on the hottest days. Best Kept Secret: The Main Range National Park Goomburra section is a must see. You can drive right up to the two lookouts and after a short walk youll be treated to the most incredible views. Local businessman Carey Burt calls Warwick home and knows hes onto a good thing.... I love it here! There are so many reasons to visit the Southern Downs but I always convince family to come and visit with the amazing food, wine and local beers we have at our fingertips. Add to that our breath-taking rural scenery and the great country pubs dotted around the place and you cant lose. We locals tend to take it all a bit for granted, but its wonderland out here. Favourite spot/secret I cant go past Lake Leslie. When people think dams they think mud, but with its sandy base, a day or weekend at Lake Leslie is like being at the beach in the country. The oldest cycle race in QLD is on! The upperlimb.com Cunningham Classic starts in Gatton at 9am and the cyclists finish up in Warwick later that day. Put on by Kangaroo Point Cycling Club and in its 38th year, the race is the toughest and most prestigious one day road race in QLD. The ...race starts at Dennis Minson Drive Gatton, moving to the drinks station at Pilton Hall where spectators can enjoy tea, coffee and home made cooking, then onto Victoria St in Warwick at the finish village where a BBQ lunch and presentations await.
