17.01.2022 Summer holidays are a good time to reflect on the year gone by. Good and bad. Whatever kind of year you have had we at Destination Trails hope you get some time to chill, hang with friends and family or just ride bikes more! Take a break! Have some fun. It's totally in order. And thanks for having us @nationalparkssa Now our Destination Trails Caravan of Courage has traversed the big island to kick off some flow trail proliferation in Kyogle, NSW. We are fully stoked to be working with the Kyogle MTB Club to make their bike park dreams come true. This is our first trail construction project in NSW so it's an ex...citing opportunity. One too good to miss! Stay tuned for the low down on the local loam! Last but not least.... "It's about the journey!" The big traverse was a bit rushed for our liking but the road still presented some amazing vistas! 06.01.2022 Hi everyone. We know you are all keen to hear whats going on at Fox Creek Bike Park. The commercial harvesting machinery will move back in in late Sept and we hope to remove the remaining pines by Dec. After the harvest is completed, the plan is to make trails open where possible while re-establishing the plantations. Some trails, such as Middle Earth, have been significantly damaged and may remain closed until they can be properly remediated. Volunteers have been putting in huge hours on site and dangerous trees are still being trimmed or removed. Through a concerted effort by volunteers, clubs, Local and State Government, ForestrySA is working towards reopening Fox soon. He is the one that first brought IMBA Australia (and me) to Kyogle to talk about MTB tourism many years ago. He was so positive and optimistic. Always. A total champion. Now Melrose has some great green trails and family friendly experiences that are immersive and engaging. It was an absolute pleasure to work with local legends @handbuilttrails ... Yesterday afternoon the weekly Bike Melrose Sunday Social Ride came out to Willowie Forest Trails for a preview and it was a simply spendid time! Smiles all around! Thank you Bike Melrose. It was so good to see you having fun out there!... Hoping we can officially open the new trail soon! Finishing touches and Zen moments on the leaf rake are nearly done.
