22.01.2022 Lions looking good!

22.01.2022 A great drive guys. Well done!

20.01.2022 The announcement that a number of Covid - 19 vaccines are now, or about to be, produced is wonderful news for those of us involved with outbound travel. We have suffered greatly as we have not been able to continue our business at all. However the future now looks MUCH brighter for us and our many clients who are itching to go on safari again. Our office is open to take your calls to help put your safari plans into place. Africa is open to us so the earlier we plan the more likely we are to get the lodges you want. We are very confident that Australia will open its borders as soon as possible after the vaccine is available. Our detailed update on the situarion will be issued in the next day or two. Look forward to seeing you on safari!!!

14.01.2022 Progress is being made towards travel to Africa again. Most of the African countries that we visit have now opened their borders to Australian travellers. (Some countries with high Covid-19 cases and deaths are precluded - such as USA, UK, India etc but are being closely monitored). Yes Covid-19 protocols are in place and must be adhered to but it makes travel safe. Then, most exciting of all from Destinations Africa's perspective, is the promise of a vaccine as early as Janu...ary 2021. Should this occur then we can look forward to enjoying safaris again. Our favourite lodges are waiting anxiously to receive you. Game viewing has been exceptional recently and most, if not all, of our preferred and recommended lodges are open once more. We are happy to prepare itineraries for you so that as soon as travel opens up you can get on a flight and head back to the wonders of safaris and wild life. We are nearly there - we just need a little more patience and some luck!! See more

04.01.2022 So Josh Frydenberg did not include any support for travel agents, tour operators or travel wholesalers in the budget and then states that Australia will not open it's borders to international travel until late next year!! What the hell is this Government doing? They close the borders and have no regard for the affect on thousands of people employed in travel. Many many such businesses will go into liquidation as they simply cannot survive on no income for that long. This will... affect the employer, the employees and not least of all, many clients who rely upon the services of these businesses to see their holiday plans come to fruition. Government support is essential to avoid a major catastrophe and there is no need for our borders to be closed for so long. Please make your voices heard to your local MP and help us resolve this situation that was NOT the making of the travel industry businesses. The Government is responsible. See more

02.01.2022 Thamba is looking great Ally. Thanks for a super drive.

02.01.2022 Now that 2020 is behind us we wish you all a very Happy New Year with safaris back in 2021 and health, happiness, love and no Covid. We have so missed seeing you all and Africa has eluded us for the first time in many many years. With love from all of us at Destinations Africa.

02.01.2022 Well the budget is out and everyone has had their say. Now it is my turn. Whilst there is a lot of positive and well executed thought that went into it there is one glaring omission. The Travel industry has arguably been affected worse than any other by the enforced C-19 shutdown of our borders and the impossibility of any international travel for the foreseeable future. There is NOTHING in terms of support from the Government for those travel agents and tour operators who ha...ve been so badly affected as to have zero income since February. There is no hope of of any of us getting travel bookings again until such time as our borders are open with no restrictions on leaving or returning and international flights resume. The only benefit we receive is the Job Keeper support and that is to be reduced next month. The Government has forced us into an impossible position and we cannot survive indefinitely - through no fault of our own! The hospitality industry can at least get going again with local patrons but we cannot do so. We urgently need some form of Government relief in terms of financial subsidies or other support. The industry is a massive employer and thousands of jobs will be lost if help is not offered very soon. No business can survive indefinitely with no income! See more
