20.01.2022 From 1 Jan 2021 it is now mandatory for all visitors to check in using the Service NSW QR code that’s been specifically generated for our business. There will be a sign on our door with the QR code for you to scan and do so BEFORE ENTERING. It’s how you will be contacted if you’re at risk of COVID-19 and help stop the spread of COVID-19. It's recommended you download and check-in using the Service NSW app where possible. ... Your information is safe and secure and will only be used by NSW Health for the purpose of contact tracing, if needed. It will not be shared with the venue and is destroyed after 28 days. Plus the app saves you time as it remembers your personal details so you don't need to re-enter at each check-in. For more information on COVID Safe check-in, including how to download and check in using the Service NSW app, visit: www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/covid-safe/qr-codes Please note this is a government mandate and applies to ALL visitors, whether you pop in for 5 seconds, 5 minutes or 5 hours. We don’t make the rules, we just have to abide by them. Students DO NOT need to scan in as their attendance is digitally recorded using our onlone booking system. We thank everyone for their upcoming cooperation in this process.

16.01.2022 We have successfully trialled our new QR code log in system for visitors over the past week, and thank everyone for their cooperation.

16.01.2022 The NSW Government announced that recording customer information digitally will become mandatory for many NSW venues and businesses from Monday 23 November 2020. HOW DOES THIS AFFECT YOU? From Monday 16th November, all visitors (parents, new enquiries etc) who enter our centre WILL NEED TO SCAN the QR code upon entry, and register their details. Even if you are quickly popping in to reception, you will be required to scan in. Prior to this, we have been recording visitor info...rmation manually, so this new system will be more efficient and fully compliant with the new COVID laws being introduced by the NSW Government. I'M ONLY JUST DROPPING IN PAYMENT / A FORM ETC? If you enter the building, and you are not a student booked in via our online booking system, youare now required to scan in regardless of how short your visit is. We know this may be inconvenient for some, but these are the new contact tracing laws we are required to abide by as a COVID safe business. There are heavy fines for non-compliance to these new requirements. Alternative options are to make payments online (our preferred method) and send in forms with your children. I'M A STUDENT, AND I'VE ALREADY BOOKED IN ONLINE. DO I HAVE TO SCAN IN TOO? We will continue to keep our own digital record of student attendance via our online booking system, so all students who are booked in to train WILL NOT NEED TO scan the QR code upon entry. Again, we emphasise the importance of booking in for each class you wish to attend. HOW DO I SCAN IN? You can use the QR code scanner on your phone, or download the scanner compatible with the software we are using at https://guesttrack.com.au/qr The system is very user friendly, and most of you would have had to check in using a QR code quite a few times by now at a variety of different locations. Here's a video to show you how it works https://youtu.be/tZluwWV1wDs WHAT HAPPENS TO MY INFORMATION? Information about the software we are using can be found by visiting https://guesttrack.com.au/faq/ In summary, these changes apply to ALL VISITORS who enter our building, and we thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we continue to maintain COVID-safe compliance.

08.01.2022 Tile and board breaks can be a demonstration of strength, control, technique and mental fortitude for many martial artists. They also look pretty cool, and it can be quite empowering for a student to break a tile or board. However this needs to be done with care, under the close supervision of a senior instructor. We incorporate breaks into our curriculum, however we cannot stress the importance of preparation and conditioning in the lead up to a break. Bones, skin and muscl...e needs to be conditioned correctly to prevent injuries. There are many small bones of the foot and hand which need to be very carefully and slowly conditioned for safety. Recently several senior Destiny Black belts demonstated impressive board and tile breaks for their grading. There was months of preparation in the lead up to these breaks, and injuries were avoided. When our students complete a tile break, they keep their hand in the final position until our assistants safely remove all broken tiles. This avoids dangerous cuts to the hands, which we have seen too often when a student retracts their hand after a tile break. Best practice safety approach during all breaks is paramount to avoid injuries, and our instructors will never place any of our students at risk of injuries from incorrect breaking preperation and techniques. Safety first always!
