There will always be somebody who doesn't like us, who cannot see the diamond that is sometimes buried beneath the coal. How do we find consistency in a world where people's opinions are constantly changing? When we turn our ear to the one who created us, we will find our value, and when we choose to believe what he says for ourselves, we will find that it doesn't matter what others say. 05.01.2022 Words from our beautiful Leah, who finished the program and has decided to stay on as Intern. "I am so grateful that I have been blessed with the gift of pure joy! I certainly have not always had this in my life - in fact I was drowning in pain for many years. I spent so long running from myself and trying to numb the pain with drugs etc. But as I look back on my life I can't help but be grateful for all my terrible life choices, because ultimately they brought me to the end ...of myself and into the arms of a loving and forgiving God. I am not defined by my past or all the things I've done. I am not defined by addiction or by the mental health labels I was given. I am not hopeless like I always believed I was. But while all that stuff does not define me, it has contributed to making me the strong, determined and grateful person I am today. I guess I write all of this because I never thought it was possible to come out the other side of addiction and all that comes with that. But I am living proof that it's possible. The journey is not always easy but I do not do it alone or in my own strength. Its okay to reach out for help, it is not weak and it is not shameful. Some people may read this and pass judgements but I don't write this for you. I write this for the ones who are struggling and feel hopeless in their circumstance.
