25.01.2022 What a great start to the month we have had with the October Business Month roadshow kicking off in Nhulunbuy last week with the team from NT Department of Trade, Business and Innovation. Developing East Arnhem Limited (DEAL) was involved in three events over the two day calendar that provided East Arnhem businesses the opportunity to connect and hear about important work happening across the region. > DEAL’s CEO spoke at the Future of East Arnhem session during the opening,... providing an overview of the East Arnhem Regional Reconstruction Committee and their path forward. > DEAL’s Tourism Development Officer Ryley Heap provided businesses with the skills required to navigate the Google My Business tool at the Online Marketing, Websites and Social Media session that was co hosted by Treeti Business Consulting. > DEAL also had the pleasure of hosting Business Golf at Sunset in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce NT (CCNT). On Friday evening nearly 50 people from businesses around the region attended to hear updates from DEAL’s CEO Jordy Bowman and CCNT’s CEO Greg Ireland. Jordy spoke of the stimulus and support provided by DEAL to businesses in East Arnhem in response to COVID-19, as well as the region’s resilience and strength throughout this unique time. After the formalities, 16 teams took to the golf course for a round of night golf under the full moon to finish off the night in style and with a few laughs. We would like to thank all the attendees from across the three sessions and the Gove Country Golf Club for their help in putting together such a great event!

Please RSVP by Monday 28 September for catering purposes. From 7pm, stay on for OBM golf with a unique twist night golf! Teams of four will experience the golf course in a whole new light. 07.01.2022 DEAL is leading the development of a Destination Management Plan (DMP) for East Arnhem, which was an action out of Tourism NT’s Tourism Industry Strategy 2030. The DMP will provide a ten year roadmap for growing and managing tourism in our beautiful and unique region. Tourism Development Officer Ryley Heap is working hard with regional tourism operators and other stakeholders, Yolu organisations, communities and homelands, and broader industry representatives to ensure the D...MP is a regionally-owned and collective plan to grow the region’s tourism industry. We recently facilitated workshops in Nhulunbuy, Darwin and via Zoom with over 50 participants providing valuable knowledge and insights. Over the next month, consultations are scheduled in a range of East Arnhem communities and homelands to better understand their aspirations for the future of tourism in this region. Watch this space for more developments on this exciting piece of work for our region!
