The $500 million fund was established to help small businesses survive the impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and keep people in work. Eligible businesses can apply for a one-off $10,000 grant which can be used towards costs such as utilities, rent, salaries and activities to support business continuity planning. 16.01.2022 The Government announced the $2.5bn JobTrainer package. The key part of this package is the expansion of the 50% apprentice wage subsidy to businesses with fewer than 200 employees (previously it only applied to businesses with fewer than 20 employees). Plus, the subsidy has been extended from its original end date of 30 September 2020 to 31 March 2021.
