21.01.2022 The mornings turtle habitat improvement works. We had a awesome morning and got so ....much done improving habitat in one of the nesting areas for the eastern long neck turtles, check out one of many piles of Sallow wattle, Pine and Spanish heath that was removed. Thanks everyone for all your help today

21.01.2022 Super exciting news - after so much hard work with a fabulous bunch of volunteers, it is very rewarding to let you all know we have had our first baby turtles hatch from one of the covered protected nests! The hatchlings were from one of the nests found during a visit from the Devilbend School Ambassadors from Tyabb Railway Primary & Moorooduc Primary- what a great team effort! Woohoo !!!

20.01.2022 Hi everyone This is a message to all the loyal followers that have discovered us and liked us over the past 18 months. Over the next few days we will be making some changes to our Facebook page. ... All the posts you have been enjoying and the activities we have been doing, including upcoming new ones will remain the same. The only change that you will see is a name change- from 'Devilbend Foundation' to the 'Friends of Daangean'. We're excited by this change and really look forward to encouraging more people to get involved with the Friends of Daangean in helping make the Devilbend natural features reserve, along with Parks Victoria, one of the best. There will be opportunities to join the committee for those that want to, once you are a member of the friends group.

19.01.2022 This information night on the Southern Toadlet looks really interesting and for anyone that lives around Devilbend and interested in frogs, it'd be very informative. The Southern Toadlet has been recorded in the area and I definitely like to know how it's faring at Devilbend natural features reserve, so if you're into recording frogs let us know if you think you've heard one we would love to know. Best time to hear it is April-May however if we continue to get warmer weather... it's calling could stretch out a little bit I believe. Here is a great app to help with that https://play.google.com/store/apps/details https://www.facebook.com/events/1072942739496359/?ti=as

14.01.2022 Something for all you happy snappers, I reckon you could get some good shots at Devilbend, so why not head out and give it a go https://www.birdlifephotoaward.org.au/

13.01.2022 Indigenous Word of the month - May I'm honoured to have this opportunity to share some of the local Indigenous word's, as this is one of the oldest languages in the world and it should never be lost. " Yarragineneit "... Translation - Dream Word provided by: Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation to whom I would like to say thank you. I would also like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land - the Bunurong/Boon Wurrung, there Elders past and present of which Devilbend (Daangean) Natural Features Reserve is located on. https://www.bunuronglc.org/

12.01.2022 Building partnerships and helping others is a great way to learn and share. Some of the Devilbend turtle group recently visited Winton Wetlands to learn about Shoreline ecology and helped with one of their plantings to improve the shoreline for turtles, frogs and birds. Thank you so much for your hospitality #WintonWetlands
