16.01.2022 Hi I’m Kris and this is the story of Devilicious It all started back in October 2013. I lived in Western Australia, met Roy on an Internet dating site and after 6 months was flying to Victoria to meet my, what was to be, my future in Laws in Bendigo, Victoria. On handing over a boutique chocolate to Roys Mum as a gift, she immediately turned it over and looked at the back of the packaging and informed me that unfortunately she could not eat the chocolate as she was Gluten i...ntolerant and it might contain wheat. Very disappointed but enquiring no further, respecting that she was on a ‘specialty’ diet, nothing more was discussed, (as being a vegetarian for 17 years, I was quite aware of the consequences associated with being marginalised with my food choices, along with many issues associated with this). As Christmas approached however, I decided I would surprise Roy’s mum with a basket of ‘’Gluten Free’’ goodies and indulgencies to make up for the error I made previously, and what better way than to purchase a specialty gift basket catering for her diet. I scoured online, however, could find no Gift hampers specifically for Gluten Free diets, and even the ones that were not guaranteeing that all the contents were certified safe, besides all looked quite boring, containing little choices. It was then I decided to put one together myself with treats that were exciting, decadent and delicious. As I attempted to source Gluten Free items from the ‘Health Food section of supermarkets, I noticed that all the packaging looked incredibly dreary and dull, with little ‘Bling’ afforded to the packaging of mainstream confectionary, Snacks, nibbles, goodies etc.. After hours in the isles, along with reading the back of all the products for ingredients, I finally presented Mum that Christmas with 'her' special gift, compiled especially for her. I now also had the confidence to know and assure Mum that she would not get sick from any of the contents, as all were not only all certified, but hand selected exclusively by me. 2 years down the track and Devilicious was in its conception, specialising in 100% certified Food Gift Hampers catering to not only Gluten intolerant diets, but also Vegans, and Vegetarians. My eldest daughter Nikki has designed the most incredible logo that completely sums up what Devilicious is all about. Slightly naughty, decadent and indulgent. Now as my National Devilicious website is about to be launched, my youngest daughter Stevie has jumped on board and has agreed to become ‘the face’ of Devilicious.
