25.01.2022 Team bonding session completed. Devo Designs took a well deserved half day and The Boss took us out for lunch, some drinks and a few games of pool. 21.01.2022 Hi Friends, Three years ago on 15 July, our nephew Joey was born. Some people know his story, some may not. So we are going to do what we have done for the last three years. ... Talk about a him and a cause that is very close to our hearts. Due to complications and decisions made during his birth, Joey was born unresponsive for 8 minutes. That means he had no oxygen to his brain. Those vital 8 minutes plus time in utero lead to brain damage for our nephew. It was evident early on that Joey would be diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Until those few days after, we had always known that Cerebral Palsy was a disability but didn’t really know anything else about it. We didn’t know that every 15 hours a child is born with cerebral palsy. We didn’t know that cerebral palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood. We didn’t know that 34 000 people are living with cerebral palsy in Australia. What did we know? That our sister and partner were hurting beyond immeasurable amounts due to the trauma they and their little baby suffered. That we would do anything we could to help support them. That we would hear the words Steptember over and over again weeks after he was born when we had never heard of Steptember ever before. What is Steptember? Steptember is a fundraising event that is held every September and it’s aim is to get participants to step 10,000 steps a day and raise funds and awareness for Cerebral Palsy. Joey was born in July 2017 and by September 2017, Jog4Joey was also born and ready to start stepping for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance and STEPtember Australia. For the last 3 years, all teams registered under Jog4Joey have raised over $60,000. That $60,000 has gone towards supporting a wide range of initiatives, helping people living with cerebral palsy to live their best lives. So...what would Devo Designs like from you? 19.01.2022 We were waiting until his new uniform arrived, but we will introduce you to one of our new apprentices that have joined Devo Designs. Paddy surprised us all this morning with some delicious white chocolate and macadamia biscuits for R U OK Day. As the employer of a mostly male dominated industry (very happy to hire some female apprentices btw) the conversation around mental health is just as important to us as retaining walls and freshly laid grass. We constantly check in wi...th our team not just with work, but also their personal life. So we were blown away by Paddy’s gesture this morning. A great fit for our team. One of our maintenance clients called to check some details and passed on feedback that Luke is an amazing business operator and our team, Antony and Kale are fine young men and Luke should be proud to help nurture and shape their strong work ethic. No need to buy a huge bunch from the shops and waste it by leaving it in the crisper until it turns into parsley slime. (We’ve all done it! ) Growing herbs can even be integrated into your garden as ground cover or feature plants. Take care of your pets and keep them inside in the cool. Remember to stay hydrated yourself. No, not just with beer but also water!... Check on any elderly neighbours or family members. With the outbreaks happening in NSW and two reported cases on the Central Coast; please rest assured we are doing everything we can to protect our employees, our clients and the community. If you see our team wearing masks, it’s to protect the community and themselves. We love a good handshake and cuddle at Christmas time but let’s all settle on a thumbs up or peace sign to ensure we all adhere to the 1.5m physical distancing regulations.... If you need to talk to a member of our team, please do keep in mind the 1.5m distancing that is required. Our team are always helpful, but unfortunately we will have to decline entering your homes or garages if you need assistance with a small job. We have the most amazing clients and are always thankful for coffees, teas and biscuits and during this time, we will have to politely decline. If you have been sick, unwell or have recently had a test for covid and have not received your results back, please do let us know and we will reschedule your maintenance visit. If you have travelled outside of the Central Coast to the Northern Beaches in the last 7 days, please let us know and we will reschedule your maintenance or landscaping visit. Lastly, the toilet paper craze has started again. If you are without and cannot buy any, please let us know. We have a 3 month subscription to Who Gives A Crap Toilet Paper and can always spare a few rolls. We will sanitize and then can drop at your door. We will share our hall with you soon and our tips and tricks for getting straight carrots vs these cool curly creatures. Hint; wicking beds are the best We just couldn’t resist our favourite find. We haven’t separated them and we are thinking of pickling them in a jar by themselves. They are too cute!... What did you do this weekend?

05.01.2022 On Friday we celebrated the awesome career Kale has had with Devo Designs. Kale has completed his apprenticeship and is off to join The Australian Army. Kale joined us at the young age of 16 and it didn’t take long for him to blow us away with his genuine love of plants, landscaping and all living creatures.... When you work with Devo Designs, you aren’t just an employee, you become part of our family. Literally. Our babies are often found in their arms while Luke and I struggle after another sleepless night with a newborn at 7am. Kale your work ethic is impeccable for your age and you are a natural leader. We are so excited for you and this next stage of your life but will miss you. Always know your family is here for you.
